He's not running out of opponents unless he's only looking for specific opponents. There is much more than 3 guys at 168 who deserve title bouts. There are guys at 160 who deserve title bouts and would be willing to move up. There are guys at 175 who would be more than willing to give Canelo that work and they aren't as old and vulnerable as Kov. I mean, Canelo is great and deserves every accolade he has, but let's not act like he has out grown the sport....There has clearly been a bunch of competition he has tip toe around.
In context of what I said. What he did is enough to get him a top ten rating. Since do you have to look really good to get a top ten rating? Like i said, don't try making out he's something that he isn't. He's just someone on the level of the 5 guys I named who make up the rest of the division. If you don't think beating Degale and the way he has looked since is enough to merit him on the level of those I said, that's fine it's a subjective sport. I'd probably argue you aren't holding those 5 names to the same rigour, however.
I think Ryder beats him and yeah its a pretty poor division absolutely You've told me twice not to make out CEJ is something he isn't? I dont understand, I've been fairly clear in how I see him Agree to disagree on the most part bud
I'd prefer Golovkin to go out on a bang against Charlo. I think that win does wonders for his resume. And I think he gets knocked out by Canelo, and I really don't wanna see that happen.
I said don't make out he's something he isn't because of the following reason. I've said all along he's someone who, failing Benitez, would serve as a legitimate defence because he's world ranked and on the same level as anyone else in the division. You said I must be drunk to rate him like that. I said no, it's his win over Degale and what he's done since. You then tried questioning those two points, you're trying to hold him to a higher standard than he's worthy of. It is a weak division. What he's done is plenty enough for him to be amongst the top ten in that division. And what's more, if you looked into it without bias, you'd obviously agree. All a champion can do is face the best in his division. If Benitez can't make weight any more, that leaves a bunch of guys on the level of CEJ. If Canelo is going to defend his belt, I'd rather it be against someone deserving of a top ten ranking.
I think you've misread me somewhere along the line I think CEJ is a tough yet awful boxer and i dont think im holding him in anyway highly Beating the ghost of Degale and the few poor fights he has had since does not make me put him any higher Like i say opinions differ here The drunk comment was in jest btw Didnt think you'd take it serious
It's not necessarily the status of him you're holding high, more the scrutiny you are applying to his recent form. If you were to argue he isn't amongst the top ten, you'd have to apply the same scrutiny to the others who make up those spaces and on that level you'd find they all stack up pretty similar. Nah didn't take it serious my man, more just using it as a base to elaborate further on my earlier points.
i cant remember the last time canelo fought someone he wasnt too scared to fight. he was too scared of all of em, to fight em.
