Canelo is simply not as good as Cotto

    I think as the rounds go on, this will become more and more clear. Canelo beats a C+ fighter in Kirkland, an in my opinion, looks gassed doing it, and it is a brilliant performance. Cotto beats an older Geale (who is still BETTER than Kirkland) and Cotto simply did what was expected. Look, Canelo is a solid fighter. But, he's done nothing to show that he is on Cotto's level. Nothing. He beat Angulo (who Cintron outclassed), and Lara- who always fights to his opposition. If Mayweather didn't fight so cautiously, he would have beaten Canelo even more one sidedly, but he opted to make it easy on himself, which was smart. Canelo's feet are just too slow, he fights in spots, and he takes breaks right in front of you. Do not be surprised if Cotto outboxes and outclasses Canelo, and stops him.

    Yes, Canelo is more primitive fighter, but he is younger and bigger.

    Canelo has always been overrated. This is a good match up however as Cotto is a come forward fighter and is giving up size and youth. I think Canelo's camp feels he is strong enough to put Cotto away.

    Cotto can win this if he doesn't gas out.

    He is, but he will have to start quick and end it quick.

    Regardless this fight will tell a lot about both guys. After this fight Canelo should move up all the way to 160. He's having to cut too much weight to make 155 and it reflects in the 30 day weigh in. I hope Cotto rips Canelo to the body.

    Yup, his best shot is to get good shots in early but, from the way Freddie is making it sound he is not gonna allow Cotto to let Canelo get those shots in on him. And that's really what it comes to down to right now for me, Freddie just sounds like he's got a good game plan for this fight. I thought this fight would be ultra competitive before but after listening to Freddie, I'm thinking, "yeah, they got this" Still won't be easy, and it will still be a great fight.

    He should invest in body work early. A lot of fighters who have to work real hard to make weight like Canelo will end up being vulnerable to the stomach. The stomach shrinks during the weight loss process and is tender for a while afterwards.

    Cotto = Ali
    Canelo = Foreman

    How did that turn out? Could history repeat itself?

    Guys Canelo's stamina is just horrible. I cannot believe how bad it is for a 25 year old world class fighter.

    He's like the new Zab Judah in that deparment.

    I hope more people feel this way to drive the odds more favourable for Canelo.
