No no no.......he's not. Julio Chavez Jr. is the most protected fighter of all time.

Im a canelo fan and i was a critic of Chavez but Chavez has stepped up a little lately and theres the rumor that he might fight Martinez soon so thats not being protected, Lee isn't a pushover either. I know canelo is young but if he's not gonna step up then don't keep the belt hostage

Ryan Rhodes was European champion and x2 title challenger at MW. Certainly above British level.

What about Adrian Broner? who has he fought other than PDL who HBO and the public felt that he lost?
His biggest "win" was against a guy who never made it to the elite level at 122. Ever since that scare he is being carefully matched. Even more so than Canelo and Jr.

Canelo isn't a hype job. He is a very good kid, very strong, and due to his fair skin, easy to sell in the USA. Why not a hype job???? Because I don't see anyone saying he is a boxing superstar. He is what he is, a young kid with potential. Belts aren't the important this days. Time will tell how far he will go. One thing about smart kids, they do other things beside fighting. Canelo has already a few projects. He is working on his future beyond boxing. AND BTW, I AM PUERTO RICAN, NOT MEXICAN

I saw a Broner comment...well Outside of the very good Japenese guy who is a champ there really isnt a threat near his weight....the featherweights are too small, the lightweights are really no better than the 130 guys and he has fewer fights than Canelo....Canelo has fought 40 times is a belt holder and has beaten no one of note so he has to be the most protected fighter on that level....154 has some good comp...He could have fought Cotto, Angulo, Kirkland, Lara, Bundrage, Spinks, by now hell he has more fights than all of them....really no excuse about his age...they threw Vargas and Reid to the wolves and ODLH and Tito are waaaaay better than anyone fighting at 154 today, hell Vargas had already beaten Campas, Quartey, and Marquez Winky Wright and was well under 25

we all know 130 isnt as deep as it has been at the past and Broner hasnt fought that many times...Canelo has fought 40 times and has fought no one of note....at those lower weights from 105-147 you are gonna be forced to do so...154 is waaaay deeper and Canelo has beaten noo one
