A rematch with cotto and he will make more money in this rematch than ggg in the rest of his life. And maybe more than ggg in his whole life. Canelo vs jacobs? the same. Canelo vs lemieux? the same. You dont understand, the guy bringing the money in here is canelo, not genadi "i've fought no one in 35 years" golovkin.

Exactly! He could possibly even fight Pac to. He has way more options.

Time will tell - this could possibly work out very well for GGG. Moves on and clears MW, then steps up. Who he potentially faces and under what financial terms IMO is only enhanced by Canelo's actions today.

The majority belt holder got the minority belt holder to voluntarily give up his own title because ........insert today's DLH excuse here.

GBP is successfully eroding Canelo's fan base one press release at a time. Not the stuff that makes fans follow sportsmen IMO.

Ggg needs canelo more than canelo needs him that's my point. And canelo and gbp realize this as well they are ready to move on.

Let me tell you something: Did Marco Antonio Barrera ever fiddle around boxing splits when a mandatory challenge awaited him? How many belts did Julio Cesar Chavez drop to avoid his mandatory challenger? How many times did Erik Morales run from a challenge?

Cancelo was being sold as a "Mexican warrior" in the tradition of past Mexican greats. And that moniker is GONE NOW. Poof. He's no great, he's a DISGRACE. Every Mexican sees that now.

I think JR giving up in a fight is worse than avoiding a fight but it is what it is bro. Now Canelo can offer GGG the biggest payday ever and at a silly 154 or 155 catch.....What a real FN Warrior .....SMH

    :patsch ABSOLUTELY WRONG !!!

:hey Canelo's brand is in the dumpster.

:rofl This is worse than Juan Chavez jr. quitting in the corner, and we have all seen the fans and boxing sites reaction to that .

Move on from what? A 1 mil PPV and a fight everyone wants to see?
How can you be happy dude? Are you a boxing fan or Canelo's personal accountant?

He does for the payday and to help try and reach the next level of s****om. But if he can secure fights with Jacobs and Saunders and win, it would definitely add a lot of depth to his accumulation of names. Jacobs and Saunders would both arguably be better than any of his previous wins to date.

But I understand what you were getting at.

I don't like the way ggg thinks he can call the shots without ever beating anyone of note in a boxing match not only that but did only 97k in ppv buys. He thinks he doesn't have to pay his dues like everyone else has thinks he's better than everyone else. He can now go back to fighting cans move up or bow to canelos demands period.
