Just wondering if anybody feels there similarities between the situation with Canelo-GGG and GGG-Jacobs. In both cases the lesser profile fighter wants more than there actual worth, in both cases the unwillingness to compromise could kill potentially interesting fight's, also in both cases the lesser fighter seems to not understand there standing in comparison or potential the opportunity brings in victory. Two guys both the same sides of the coin in terms of situation, wanting and acting like the star but unwilling to do what's required to actually become one
Of course both situations are similar in matters of who is the real money generator. Golovkin generates more revenue than Jacobs and pretty much every opponent he has signed to fight. The difference is that Jacobs has made a million dollars before and no one on GGG's resume ever has/had. Brook took that fight, not because he wanted a challenge but because in 10 years he had never made any real big money in boxing and this was his chance. Same goes for Golovkin chasing the bigger draw Canelo around. Canelo has made some great money in boxing and has the attendance and PPVs to prove it. GGG cannot touch Canelo's jock strap when it comes to money generation and the Canelo vs Smith attendance numbers prove that that WBC belt situation does not matter like internet trolls believe it does. Even fighting a known loser the guy can generate 250k-300k PPVs. That's $15-18 million dollars in PPV alone. How can Jacobs ask for more than he is worth when he does not have the pull of Golovkin and how can Golovkin ask for more than Canelo if he does not have the ****ing pull. It's certainly not about the belts anymore. So should Jacobs just take the money and try to win the fight ? YES! Should Golovkin just take the money and the weight stipulations and try to win the fight? YES!
I saw the similarity of GGGs team wanting the purse split to be determined by the in place rules set by the sanctioning bodies in accordance to each fighters position as champions and mandatories.
No **** both happened to benefit him greatly. However now Canelo is 154 champ there are no mandatory splits so he has no leverage why doesn't he take 8 figures?
\ This has been explained to death and back but okay, I'll do it again. Canelo's team offers GGG 10m flat rate a year before their supposed fight. That is a starting negotiation offer. GGG could accept that right now but why the hell would any fighter do that. Unless GGG loses between now and their supposed fight a year from now then there is zero reason why the flat 10m offer won't still be on the table when that time comes. On the other hand if Canelo loses or GGG takes Jacobs/BJS's scalp then he has more leverage to get a larger piece of the pie later on during the negotiations. Or he could just use what he has, spend the next year negotiating a better deal and if that falls through just accept the 10m. In no situation does it ever makes since to accept the first offer presented in negations happening a year out from a fight. Unless of course you have it out for a fighter and post stupid **** on a forum all day.
make it would Oscher make it and would Jacobs give in to the weight demands and would he take a flat offer for the fight ummm
