Dunno.... I think when he picked Berto as his last fight of the network deal, it was kinda like an admission he knew he was on the slide and selected an opponent he knew he could beat, which after such a long career fighting more elite names than any boxer of the modern era he was entitled to do, I'd say. The fact he's talking up Connor also hints that match-ups with any of boxing current elite fighters in his weight catagory are unlikely. Looks like he's trying to make his name relevant again to try and build up a fight with Connor. Hope it doesn't happen. Finishing a great career in a circus act doesn't have a good look in my view...
50/50 fight for me based on what i "think" i know about boxing, but floyd is right, He for dam sure knows more about boxing than any of us here, Its rare he gives a prediction with such confidence either, he is usually a master troll at sitting on the fence.
Canelo isn't knocking him out. Probably isn't beating him either, but we won't know until they fight.
For me if it happens before September 2018, I pick Golovkin. On or after, I pick Canelo. I think stylistically it's quite a good matchup for Canelo, but a prime GGG @160 lb is better than any version of Canelo we have seen yet IMHO.
Meh. Floyd also thought the Pacquiao/Bradley fight was a draw so I usually take his opinions with a grain of salt. With exception to his thoughts on the Ward/Kovalev fight, thinking Canelo can KO someone like GGG is pretty ridiculous...
i agree, maybe floyd is looking at creating his own fight network or something? where boxing and ufc is intergrated? i dunno it maybe the $ he chasing if its there
Canelo can beat GGG but I don't think he knocks him out. He has fought much better comp than GGG and has good skills to boot. A lot of people are going to be surprised when this fight takes place and Canelo beats him.
