I was hoping for something a little better. I'll still order it but it needed another big fight to justify ppv
I doubt that. If they pull 600k or more it will be a decent result. Too many PPV this year probably affects number of buys in my opinion.
I hope you're joking. Angulo, who is an action fighter, only delivered 350k. Ironically the main event is better, but won't perform as well. You can tell that Schaefer has no part in this undercard. This card is all Oscar, hence no Haymon fighters except Lara. If GBP/Schaefer-Haymon part, this is all they got left - Canelo, Mares, perhaps Hopkins. Overall, this card doesn't garner my attention. I'm not saying I won't pay $20 to see it at a theater, but not $60. As has been mentioned before, this appears to be the plan for Canelo going forward. He'll get a $1.5 guarantee and some proceeds if the card succeed. Even if you only get 350k, with a cheap undercard such as this Canelo can pull in about $5 million, which is way better than the $2 million maximum he'd pull on HBO or SHO.
Martinez/Cotto will be lucky to pull 600k. This does maybe 250-350k. People are running out of money to follow boxing. Eventually you have to decide what to buy, and I'd rather spend my money on Pac and Martinez/Cotto than this card.
