Something was off about canelo, he didn't look as strong as usual. 165lbs instead of 170. Was he sick or weight drained? Not taking anything away from floyd, but canelo could have done much better.
He was smaller then usual. 7 pounds lighter then his last fight. I thought he looked a little off too , I can't say he looked drained though.
Anyone need a reminder that this wasn't some overmatched bum he was fighting. Of course he was looking slower. Of course he didn't look like his dominating self. He was fighting Floyd Mayweather. Duh!
Nah!!! Cut that BS! Canelo looked solid. Mayweather just outboxed him. Canelo didn't risk enough to win. I had Mayweather winning the fight but Canelo did better than I thought, in the sense that he really never got hit flush, like Mayweather tends to hit his opponents. Canelo didn't have the right game plan and should have risked more but ultimately Canelo held on vs a MASTER boxer. Canelo was very smart in this fight. Rarely did he get his flush. He lost by points. Sure, maybe by a "landslide" but Canelo is only 23 and if he would have won, it would have been a shocker and incredible win. Canelo gave all the credit to Mayweather and always showed respect. Sometimes it's about the gameplan and execution. Canelo executed in the sense that he rarely got hit flush like prior May opponents but he clearly didn't do enough offensively. It is what it is. May is a master boxer and being cautious wont get it done. You need to risk more. Canelo didn't. This was the like an amateur fight. Real talk. May won fair and square. But I really can't hate on Canelo. He was smarter at age 23 than most.
He look\ed week at the weight-in.l Pale and drained. He didn't look it today though. Looked strong and big. Canelo looked off because Floyd is a fiend. Deal.
I agree it was like an amateur fight. One very skilled boxer schools the other, no intrigue whatsoever. Drained or not, Canelo was gonna lose this fight just because he is not ready. And will he ever be against this 36 y.o. genius?
Of course he's gonna look slow against Floyd. Floyd is faster and a better boxer. Canelo is bigger and stronger but that's no good if you don't land punches and then get tired because of that.
He looked like 99% of Floyd's opponents. Maybe they were weight-drained too. Canelo looked "off" because he we fighting Floyd, simple as that.
