he didn't slowed down, tried hard for the full 12. If he was heavier , he would have been slower and miss more than he did. use your brains for once
these threads are pathetic. Canelo looked exactly how he always does, except intead of lopez and gomez in front of him, it was Floyd mayweather.
There is Canelo level. Then there is Martinez level above him. Then there is Ward level above Martinez. Then there is Mayweather level above Ward. That's the difference we saw today. 3 level diff.
No excuses Floyd took him to school basically a welterweight beating up a Super Middleweight. Had Canelo rehydrated up to 170 pounds he would have been even slower.
You're missing the point. TMT forced Canelo to cut down to 152, which affected his conditioning. He wasn't at his best, because TMT knew Canelo at his best would beat FMJ.
Canelo chose to fight at 152. No one forced him to do it. And personally, I'm a Canelo fan and I don't think the weight was an issue. I think Canelo had the wrong plan - like standing directly in front of Floyd after he gets his feet set.
whats going to be the excuse when canelo gets beat by vanes, lara, molina or kirkland? i cant believe that canelo nuthuggers are somehow trying to defend his performance tonight. all the knowledgeable people here tried to tell you that this short-legged 5'7" jmw with bad footwork and without one punch power is average but you guys are just blinded by the pink co-ck.
Ask yourself this. Where was the movement he had against Trout? Where were those superhuman moves he used against Trout? He couldn't do that because he wasn't the same fighter. Having to cut down affected his normal preparation. He wasn't nearly as elusive as he was against Trout. It's not just the actual weight at the weigh-in, it's the pressure of having to make a lower weight then normal.
I feel your frustration - I think Canelo could have beaten Floyd with the right plan, but let's admit this: Floyd's hands are a hell of a lot faster than Trout's. What is effective against Trout may not work against Mayweather.
