ESPN.com scored the fight 116-112 for Alvarez http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/id/11209193/canelo-alvarez-defeats-erislandy-lara-split-decision In fact, the MAJORITY of press row had Canelo winning. You just don't know **** about boxing. Now THAT's a fact. :rofl
So all because ESPN scored the fight for Alvarez , Everyone else who had Lara winning is wrong and dismissed ?? Brian Kenny of ESPN scored the Pacquiao/Bradley 1 for Bradley . So I guess everyone else who felt Manny won DKSAB either .
Who did the MAJORITY of press row score Pacquiao/Bradley for? Pacquiao Who did the MAJORITY of press row score Canelo/Lara for? Canelo.
Only 4 more reporters had it for Canelo , Not that big of a difference . Lets not act as if 75% of the Boxing media had Canelo winning the fight . A lot of people , including Mexican fighters felt Canelo lost to Lara .
I feel the result of the fight should be either a draw, or somehow a "L" for both guys. A loss for Lara for running away and doing everything he can to not actually fight. An "L" for Canelo for not being able to hurt or convincingly beat a coward who doesnt want to fight AT ALL. Since they dont give out double losses, guess they whouldve went with a draw. If you absolutely have to declare a winner in this absurd display, I really feel you have to go with Canelo, by virtue of attempting to fight in a match that is technically supposed to be a fight of some sort. I really have a hard time understanding people actually crying robbery here. Come on man. Lara landed 10 more punches over the coarse of 12 rounds, when almost all of his punches were jabs with nothing on them. Canelo was credited with landing 37 more power punches. Whats the problem? If Lara fans really believe Lara is the better/more talented fighter, the person you need to be mad at is Lara himself for not displaying that in any meaningful way during his chance at the big time. Lara should attempt to avenge his draw with Molina, which lets face it, was really a loss anyway.
