Canelo made a big mistake suing DAZN & De La Hoya.

They also had more fat on their frames as they moved up whereas Canelo seems to always stay at the same body fat percentage.

 

This. No one likes Canelo except a very small minority of fanboys who like to back the bad guy of boxing because they think it's rebellious in nature.

 

Lol Floyd has already twice in his career made more in one night than what Canelo was getting from the Dazn deal

Hell Manny could **** on Canelo too. He's only big in Mexico and somewhat in America. Here in Europe we either don't know him or don't rate him that highly. We all know he's very good but a P4P #1 guy? Hell ****ing nah. Has had way too many favours and obviously the clen situation has done him no favours.

 

Canelo is the guy everyone loves to hate like Floyd. However, Floyd was a much better fighter.

 

Canelo is a better power puncher than Mayweather and uses more upper body movement. Mayweather has the better jab and better fundamentals. I would give prime Mayweather a slight edge in overall skill and concentration but it's a very close comparison when you consider how much better of a power puncher Canelo is.

 

Lol, didn't Floyd prove it when they fought. Totally outclassed and embarrassed him and no Canelo was not green at all at the time, he already had 43 pro fights, you cannot get any more ready than that. In fact Floyd even today can find a way to beat the Canelo of today and embarras him

 

Power doesn't matter if you can't land. Floyd has the best defence in history where he can guard against body shots, head shots, can counter his opponents, can feint and confuse his opponents who just surrender mid way during the fight

 

Canelo has received many gift decisions in comparison to Floyd. Atleast Floyd outboxed all his opponents in the ring. People hated Floyd for his off the ring antics and arrogance but no one can deny his ring genius

Canelo has better punching technique. Mayweather was a defensive fighter who primarily worked behind the jab. Canelo has a facet to his game that Mayweather never had : the ability to seek and destroy. So when making the comparison, yes Mayweather had a deeper defensive skillset, but you have to take into account that Mayweather was not a big puncher. Canelo is. Canelo is more well rounded as a fighter than Mayweather was. But what Mayweather was good at, i.e. defense, hitting without getting hit, Mayweather is in a class all his own. But when it comes to power punching, seek and destroy, landing big shots out of nowhere at odd angles, these are things that Mayweather was never displayed. That was one of the biggest criticisms of Mayweather, that he was too defensive at times and didn't excite the crowd like Canelo does with big flashy power punches and highlight reel knockouts.

 

Canelo has changed wuite a bit since then.

Improved yes but he still can't beat Floyd. Floyd always finds a way to win
