They even tried to justify canelo choosing khan by saying that khan would be golovkins best win by far...... Khan would also be golovkins shortest fight by far.

It's the only stick to hit him with. Blame Golovkin for the big(ger) names ducking him, so they won't have to recognize him as the legit #1 force at Middleweight.

I think in the old days lineal was undisputed now who the hell knows what it means?
This is why modern lineal concept is a joke. If you have all 4 belts in the division then you are undisputed and nothing is higher than that.

Its pretty ridiculous , Sturm back in the day ducked GGG like the plague, he sparred him before and knew what he was in for, Martinez was in no rush to fight him at all, before he's injuries, canelo flat out legged it instead of fighting GGG. He has all the belts or will as soon as Saunders mans up(id like to see the wbo enforce a unification) and then when he has all the belts i see fighters flat out avoiding the middleweight division entirely and the haters will say he hasn't beat anyone while defending the guys ducking him

These are the same guys saying the middleweight division is weak, but then why wont any 154 fighters move up to 160 if its so weak?

Why Liam Smith? Why not finish the debate with Lara? Even the Charlo's are more interesting fights but Liam Smith, nope, not having how any can defend the offer.

It really sums up the mind set of GBP and Canelo, it looks like GBP have little faith in him now and Canelo who is supposed to be the boss and his own man isn't exactly forcing the issues.

They just fed Canelo a brittle jawed welterweight and then offer what most would regard as the weakest of the champions at 154 a payday.

Of course GBP did, they're all about those paper titles. I'm gonna laugh if Smith's team tells Pollo Rojo to slag off.

Well, at least if Canelo goes back to JMW, the claim of Golovkin being the top MW is far less disputed.

Canelo could fight someone the fans is more interested in other than ggg, this goes to show how meaningful a title is.

    A bogus mandatory?

Yes, you are happy, as it just gives you an other opportunity to criticise GG.

    Sad.

Canelo was his mandatory. If Canelo hadn't have relinquished you wouldn't have had to question whether or not GG would go on to fight a bum.

If in fact GG does go on to fight a so called bum, then that will be Canelo's fault.

    You're a joker.

Canelo's just said that he dropped the belt because he didn't want to be tied to a deadline. He also said he asked GG to enter the ring after the Khan fight to prove he had no fear. He also said that he'd fight him at 160. Yet we're now on a thread discussing Liam Smith's comments.

It's a absolute disgrace, and so is anyone who advocates Canelo and Oscar's behaviour.

I have no problem with Canelo dropping down to a proper weight, but why not take on a Charlo? Set right his disputed victory over Lara? All three of these guys have belts, are free since they just fought and I believe one of the Charlo's has even been calling him out.

    Pathetic isn't it.

Apparently, they only dropped the belt because they didn't want to be confined to the deadline. Yet there's clowns who'll support the fight whilst criticising GG at the same time.

I get that mate, I was just making a point.

When the dust settles, there'll probably be a lot of people like yourself who are glad he's back at JMW. But only a few weeks ago, we were led to believe that they still wanted the GG fight and they'd only dropped the belt due to being constrained by the WBC's deadlines. Yet if Liam's telling the truth, it was all nonsense. So most people aren't going to sit and look at things from your perspective, because they're going to feel cheated instead.
