you can say it a million more times, the fact is i saw this fight completely differently to how you did, and judging by the responses you've had in this thread, i'm not alone.
the fact that you give ANY credibility to the 6-6 card is completely ridiculous imo.

this fight wasn't close, and that's what the other two scorecards reinforce.
this wasn't a "just on the night, mayweather had enough firepower to eek out the decision" type of fight.
this was a great fighter approaching the twilight of his career dishing out a boxing lesson to a future ATG.
i mean, what did you think was going to happen, when canelo decided to stand in the middle ring and try to box the best boxer of his era?

It didn't have the look of that early on. Mayweather was in a big struggle which was visible by all. Mayweather was so nervous and rattled in the early rounds, he flinched hard on over 20 feints by Canelo in the first 3 rounds alone. You don't issue a boxing lesson while reacting to that many feints.

So the first 6 rounds were super tight, but then Mayweather had a big round 7 and took control of the match. Had Canelo maintained his form he established in the first 6 rounds it would have been even closer. But he allowed Mayweather to open up a lead from the 7th round on. So you can make the argument that Mayweather dished out a boxing lesson in some of the rounds, like Round 7 and a couple others. But in the vast majority of the rounds Canelo was feinting Mayweather and was engaged in a back and forth chess match. Most rounds were a jabbing battle with both men landing a comparable number of power punches.

i've seen the fight, and i'm not sure why you're so invested in making canelo look better than what he was.
    are you mexican?

I'm not, and I'd ask you the same question, why are you so invested in making Mayweather look better than what he did, acting like it was a schooling when most rounds were tight and hard to score? The judges scored this match as it was, as a close but clear Maywether victory, not a shutout, not an 11 to 1 schooling, but something in the range of 7-5, 8-4, 9-3 depending on how you score certain hard to score rounds. I explained that I didn't agree with CJ Ross's 114-114 card, so I'm not giving that credibility. The people who argue 11 to 1 or 10-2 are simply giving Mayweather too many of the close rounds, probably because he's Mayweather, was expected to win. But some of the rounds that even the judges gave to Mayweather, like round 4 were ridiculous. Canelo clearly won that round, the interpretation of the fouling incident may have played a role, but Canelo took over that round in the final minute.

I respect both, but is it that hard to understand Canelo is NOT the same fighter he was years ago?? I mean it's common sense...

Margarito was a flat footed plodder with no Defense no Head movement and was slow as molasses. That is a recipe for disaster against a guy with the speed, foot movement, head movement, and Ring IQ of Mayweather. Its basically guaranteed to be a 120-108 thrashing on all 3 judges scorecards. Just an overall awful match up. This doesn't even factor in Margarito's loaded wraps which after this was exposed the KO's & TKO's stopped immediately. The guy was rendered useless.

So once again I ask you Why didnt Floyd take him on & teach him the lesson you suggest .????? Easy Floyd kinew in his heart he could not beat him even with The NSAC & Vegas boxing officials in his corner.
It would have had to be a KO win for Tony as the judges cards you suggest would have been filled in pre fight ROFL

The myth of Margarito as some type of dominant terror that was unbeatable was started by Steve Kim & Doug Fischer. That hype bubble busted when Paul Williams beat him. Margarito couldn't box. He had no skills. He had ZERO Ring IQ. None. He was then obliterated by an old and shot Mosley. And after his wraps were removed in the dressing room before that very fight he didn't record one single stoppage in the rest of his bogus career. Coincidence? I think not. The truth is Margarito was never some beast that people were scared of. His career shows how limited he really was.
