The fight is tomorrow and Canelo is still butthurt about this. If he's upset he should have never agreed. He probably could have had it at 154 if he played hardball. He's making Leonard Ellerbe look like a genius when he said Canelo's team is inept.

I think the proper term would be "requested" a rehydration clause. A "demand" would indicate you take it or they walk. That clearly did not happen and the fight was made regardless.

    A non-story.

I hope those defending Floyd also defended Manny for his catchweights.

    Yeah right.

I have been consistent on this topic: The title should not be on the line in catchweight bouts. Making the fight is OK in my view if you're getting two champions from different divisions to fight, but it should be without the belts unless at a full weight limit. Just IMO.

And there is a major world of difference from fighting Margarito at 150 and fighting Canelo at 152. One of which is, Margarito never did anything at 154 to warrant a vacant championship belt match with Pacquiao.

Pacquiao gets harped on because it was Margarito he fought, who is an absolute bum at 154 and never won a thing in that division. Somehow beating him gives you a title? Please.... That was my issue with it anyways, much more than the catchweight. Margarito was coming off a suspension and looked like utter crap in his previous fight, and so Pacquiao fights him for a vacant title at 150? It was a joke of a fight, and that had to do with choice of opponent, more than it did weight.

Punk Mayweather will have every advantage possible when he steps in the ring tomorrow night as he does every time. I'm sure the officials have received their instructions regarding pre fight testing & the fight itself
Like all of Floyd's previous opponents Canelo will be facing a very unlevel playing field . He knows he will have an enormous task of getting a dec against Floyd if Floyd is still standing at the final bell. He has to win by KO. I sincerely hope he can pull this off because I think it will give boxing a big boost to have a champion they can respect

How did he have advantages over DLH and Cotto?, didn't he literally bow down to every single demand DLH threw at him?. Less money, gloves, ring size, location and weight. You're just a trolling clown in this case. Alvarez has the size and weight advantage in this one because Mayweather is the one making the move up, all Alvarez has to do is weigh-in at 152, he could have easily said no if that request was unfair in any way. Didn't Alvarez weigh 153.5 against Trout five months ago?. Either enjoy the fight or keep crying/complaining like the lady you really are.

    :good

You not only have to beat Floyd in the ring but you have to beat him at the negotiation table, beat him at the business side too to get the "win"

I like this form B-hop, he said this about Guerrero but it can be applied to canelo. He canelo is a great plumber, he looks great. Only problem is their sending a plumber to do a electricians job, he doesn't have the tools to beat mayweather. May has the advantage in speed, skill, experience, boxing IQ, stamina, footwork on and on. Caneol has size power and youth going for him. If canelo were the same size no one would care for this fight.

Mayweather being the champ the #1 guy in boxing gives him the power to dictate any advantage he can get away with. He's not going to give canelo anything, he will have to earn it the hard way. Its just the way it is. It seems before the fight was made everyone was saying canelo was the one. Now its he's being drained down its not fair before even the weigh ins. I believe canelo will make weight, he's trained hard and knew what he was getting himself into. Even when the deck stacked against him, he has the chance to shock the world. Its on him, if he loses I don't see him making excuses because he knows whats he's up against.

Then Floyd shouldn't be calling himself 2x SWW champ, if these guys are too big for him. Canelo is no exception, most of them are around 170 fight night
