Imo, no Golovkin fan should say a word about Canelo. This fight is nothing special but Canelo already took more risks than GGG about 5 times over. He went up three times! and fought the top dog. GGG never dared to do anything remotely similar.

I'd have preferred Canelo vs Munguia or Benavidez... even if he says he "doesn't want to box his compatriots".

In my opinion, this is the Mexican's last fight before he retires.

Jermall was a very very good boxer, much better than his twin brother Jermell before Covid.

Today it's not certain that he'll make it to the decision, unlike Jermell, who did it with pain, and Jermall remains a lesser challenger to the Mexican than Munguia, for example.

Its funny how the narratives change. Everyone one was saying Mell was the better fighter before he got his ass beat. Now the guy who went life and death with Castano is the better one. Hilarious.

Canelo tends to wait out fights with good fighters, which means hell fight Benevides in 5 years.

Canelo's riding off into the sunset milking the cash cow as long and as much as he can.

    Smart move.

Munguia/Berlanga maybe but not a chance Canelo ever fights Morrell.

In a perfect world Canelo would fight Munguia now and Benavidez in Sep.

This idea of 'he's paid his dues' doesn't stick for me. So how many soft touches in a row does the fact that he's fought good opponents in the past entitle him to? He's the undisputed champion, and the status warrants that he should be fighting the very best fight in, fight out. This will now be the 3rd fight in a row where he's picking a soft touch.

And wasn't Benavidez announced as a mando in 2023? And now we wait until 2025 for that to be realised? It's BS.

Who has put in more work than Canelo between 147-175 in the last 10 years?

That's why I give Canelo a pass in the twilight of his career.

He's 33 and undisputed champion. Hardly twilight of his career, and if he wants to mess around with dragging people up from other weight classes and soft touches, then relinquish the belts.

He's been a professional fighter since the age of 13... He's fought grown men since he was a very young teenager. He has fought more rounds than Pacquiao, Mayweather, Golovkin. He has also fought the best at 154, 160, 168, and 175 with the only exception at 175 Beterbiev.

You clearly haven't followed boxing and dksab... when there are fighters like Morales, Taylor, Vargas and many more who were almost shot before the age of 30.
