Even if he entered the ring drunk he is still dangerous so I totally agree

I think it’s safe to say Big Red don’t need no trouble at 175.

Also there is no reward for him at 175. If he was to go back in that danger zone his stock would drop as he would likely get KTFO.
Canelo is smart enough to do what he needs to do and if it’s working why FK it up? Dude is the face of boxing and love him, hate him, like him or not that’s the world of boxing right now.

Now that’s a toss up kind of fight I would love to see.. Canelo would get a lot of credit if he beat Bivol, too, even at 168. Ditto for Benavidez. I’d expect him to beat Saunders, Plant, and Charlo and everyone knows Beterbiev would steamroll him.

I don’t want him to take fights I think he’ll win OR lose, I want that element of doubt... To Canelo’s credit the GGG and Kovalev fights had that.

No more of a cherrypick than Pac fighting Margarito for the Superwelter title or Shane Mosley after that.

If I wanted to see him lose I'd just go back and watch him get dicked off Mayweather or rewatch the golovkin fights....I think people would rather just see you try n cement your legacy even further by fighting bivol, beterbiev etc...your the one who jumped at the chance to ko a shot kovalev and then say people only want you to go to lightheavy to watch you lose...you went to lightheavy of your own accord now people want you to challenge yourself there...it's your own fault

LOL, Beterbiev was the first person in history to be too busy for the Canelo fight.
''Hi Saul, it's Arthur. Listen, thanks for offering the biggest pay day I'll ever have, in the biggest fighting event I'll ever have, in a fight I have massive advantages in. Thing is, I've got other plans! Dang, just one of those things! Allah Snackbar, brother, see ya round.''

    What!?

Sure, Canelo is right about people wanting him to lose, only because they're sick of his corrupt ways. And it's true he isn't a natural 175'r so it would normally be unfair to expect him to fight there. BUT, when you go up to pick on the 175 guy on a slide, with hydration clauses, and lack of recovery time from a brutal fight, to CLAIM 175 championship credentials, then it's absolutely fair people want you destroyed by the most dangerous 175'rs that you avoid. If Canelo had never gone up to 175 for his calculated belt grab, nobody would be expecting him to fight there.

He wore the belt at 175 and his fans called him a champion at LH. Why is it unfair to expect him to fight the real champs at the weight? They say it wasn’t a cherry pick to fight Kov but complain when fans want to see him defend against the real champs?

In fairness, he did the same thing Ward did at 175. Cherry picked a guy who was having personal problems and in steep decline. At least Canelo beat Kov and didn’t need to resort to dirty tactics to get the win or rely on corrupt judges. Still, they both avoided top guys for a reason.

First person in history to be too busy to fight Canelo? Plant was too busy to fight Canelo when asked last year. He said he needed more time. Saunders was too busy to fight Canelo.

If you look at the timetable, it makes perfect sense. Beterbiev would have been preparing to fight Oleksandr Gvozdyk who he fought on October 18th, 2019 when he was approached about a Canelo fight. Canelo Kovalev was on November 2, 2019. So I don't know why you are acting like him being busy at that time is so mind boggling. He was probably already committed to fighting Gvozdyk so he couldn't cancel that to fight Canelo. Why is this so hard to fathom?

All Canelo does is fight guys with a name who have started looking bad or no hopers like Fielding or Yldrim. He was not interested in this belt when Benavidez was the holder.

I called his previous fight being either Saunders or Smith, just based on how they looked in their last fights. And you wonder why MMA is more popular than boxing in America?

Saunders and Caleb were not "busy", they have reasons they did not take the fight

If anyone agrees with those reasons that's a different story

    Don't twist it

OK, but Beterbiev did appear to be "busy" in that he had a fight scheduled with Oleksandr Gvozdyk in mid-October. Canelo Kovalev was announced Sept 19th, so if he had reached out to Beterbiev in early September, Beterbiev would have already been preparing to fight Oleksandr Gvozdyk.

Last I looked, no one cares to count Pac's 154 belt. So you don't count canelo's 175 belt? And you realize Canelo fought Shane AFTER Pac beat him?

MorvidusStyle was acting like the idea that Beterbiev was "busy" when Canelo would have approached him for a fight was ludicrous. But given the timeframe in which Canelo's team would have approached Beterbiev for a fight, Artur would already be committed to fighting Gvozdyk, and thus would be unable to cancel his fight with Gvozdyk to make the fight with Canelo. So Beterbiev being "busy" then preparing for another fight would make sense.
