If they did go against each other, the Cotto/Canelo fight would give Floyd a run for his money

In other words, they are not letting Canelo and Oscar mess Cotto Canelo up again, they have put their foot down this time.

the only reason floyds fights do well is people pay in the hopes to see him lose. he is possibly the most hated athlete in the world, people are sick of his pretty boy style. people want to see action not paint drying.

Only an idiot would think that Mayweather was not going to fight on Sept 12th instead of 2 guys he already beat and one of them by virtual shutout.:rofl

The Cinco De Mayo and Mexican Independence weekends belong to THE #1 PPV draw in the sport and that is Mayweather.

The WBC will renege and Golovkin will accept his step-aside fee.

It isn't HBO it is the the PPV distributor they want Mayweather and not Canelo or Cotto. They have more say than HBO does.

Come on, Cotto-Canelo was never going to take place in just 3 months anyway. Cotto is a diva and will push it out as late as he can.

Canelo's side saying they want to let Mayweather take the date is them saying "We want the date but Cotto will never agree to fight that early so we'll give credit to Mayweather instead of making it seem like Miguel dictated timing"

Its logical business move. And judging by the last Floyd fight? I highly doubt a lot would tune in. I would if its Brook or Thurman.

Those who didn't like his last fight would likely just wait for the Canelo/Cotto showdown come Nov.

REAL boxing fans would prefer to see Canelo- Cotto or Canelo- GGG than any corrupt Mayweather pantomime in Vegas. Doesn't matter who Mayweather picks they will not be given a level playing field. They've made this BLATANTLY obvious:patsch

HBO cannot compete with the farewell fight of the most popular boxer in the last 15 years. Floyd could fight Salka and draw 1 million PPV buys at this point.

You prefer boring ********** to Canelo? I watch Floyd fights when I'm having trouble sleeping.

I agree and would rather watch Alvarez get schooled by Cotto. That doesn't change the fact that Alvarez has been trying to throw his weight around since he arrived on the scene and keeps getting put in his place. Alvarez thinks he is the "A-side" in all matters and that simply isn't the case.

Wlad has more highlight reel KO's and entraining fights than Floyd does. FACT.
