Canelo once again kicked off September 12th date by Money, happens OCT/NOV

People want to see fighters fight like Guerrero, then when he is washed up (like he is now), they'll forget about him and move to someone else.

 

Mayweather's possible last fight holds ewight over Canelo and Cotto. I too want to see that fight but if this is May's last fight, Cotto and Canelo can and will wait.

 

Cotto and Canelo should focus on hyping up their fight as much as they can. Instead of sour g****s over losing the date. Canelo is young he will have plenty of time to "claim" those dates after Mayweather has retired.

It's a fair point but I doubt at this point ''farewell fight'' (which nobody believes) or not, Mayweather would not be crazy enough to go against Canelo vs Cotto, I believe they would outsell him if it came down to it, floyd vs Garcia, Khan, Brook or Thurman cannot compete with those two coming together. But HBO wouldn't lose itself money by going against Mayweather even though they'd take a pretty huge chunk out of his buyers.

 

If Canelo vs Cotto could beat Mayweather they would have it on Sept 12th. They can't and they won't and even if they wanted too the PPV executives would tell them to go take a hike that they are going to show Mayweather because he generates more than both Canelo and Cotto combined. They are doing 350k PPV buys without Mayweather as an opponent where Mayweather is doing 800k to 1mil without them as opponents and just did a monstrous 4.4 million.

 

He has no choice but to do just that.
