    I think.canelo is faster and a better rounded fighter. Has also faced way better opposition.

    might be like the zbik fight alvarez hits him a lot but chavez superior power carrys the day

    chavez hits hard and will target the body and really try and tire him

    if jr comes in at 180 he will dward canelo

    Canelo fights smarter and more mature. His defense is better. More power and speed. Chavez Jr's punch technique is the superior of the two though and his left hook to the body is better too. Neither will ever be true p4p talents imo.

    Canelo, hands down.....

    I feel JCC jr has been built up to ride the Chavez name. His series of trainers have made the most out of him, but i think he's plateau'd at B caliber. Alvarez has physical gifts that jr doesnt, and technically a much better fighter. Alvarez is solid A caliber.

    What does BoxRec say about these 2 fighters?

    Saul Alvarez - 37W, 27KOs, 465points
    Julio Chavez - 43W, 30KOs, 329points

    Ratings generally due to level of competition fought, with performance
    Soooooo - Chavez has 6 more fights won, but behind by 50% more points?????
    I smell a Hyped rat and a "built" record - Chaaavvvveeezzzz

    Canelo at the weight packs a hard punch, Jr. despite coming in at light heavy weight couldn't k.o. zbik........ The only way its competitive is if its at 160 and canelo doesn't put on the weight properly. Other wise canelo mops the ring with junior.
