Even if you say GGG has 15 title defenses, he surpassed Carlos Monzon. I give credit for regular title defenses, but not interim. The guy has to defend his belt vs contenders. The WBA gives one Champ a certain status of Super Champion so he doesn't have to defend his belt against the mandatory's. That's where the regular comes in and continues fighting mandatory's and contenders. His title defenses count, and there are contenders hungry for that belt.

Bud, he lost. Canelo won. Its out there for the world to see it. This is pure delusion.

People hated Canelo at the time for the first match so they did all kinds of reaching to give GGG the fight even though he spent the entire match jabbing on the backfoot while getting walked down and eating power-shots until half his face turned blue.

You can’t just make up a narrative in your head and pretend as if it means anything. Have your opinion but GGG lost, he is officially 0-2-1 against Canelo and history will judge him based on that. No amount of crying from his rabid fans will change who he is. He is a very talented fighter who wasted his career feasting on a weak MW and came really close to beating Canelo. Thats all he is. Get mad at him for wasting his talents.

Sturm fought some scrubbs, he really milked it. He did fight a few decent guys though. He should have lost to Macklin, and possibly Murray, and he did lose to Geale. Those were some of Sturms very best wins and GGG cut through them like a hot knife through butter. The regular champ would have ragdolled the Super Champ. The funny thing is, these guys were big wins for guts like Sturm and Martinez, but GGG doesn't get credit because he is so far superior to them.

History will remember him as the guy who defended his belt 20 times (18) by KO. with the highest KO percentage in middleweight history. He will also be remembered for his trilogy with Canelo, how he more than held his own in getting robbed. The third fight GGG was only outlanded by 10 punches, and lost 115-113. At 40 years old. He will also be remembered for his 23 conservative K0 streak, and his spectacular highlight KO reel that's like something very rarely seen. He will also be remembered for his Granite historic chin.

No, you know which one's he lost. Mayweather, Trout, Lara, GGG twice, Bivol, Crawford. The rest he won.

Oh, by the way Hopkins has only 19 defenses, because a No contest isn't a successful title defense, it's a no contest.

Murata would beat THAT version of Kovalev.

    From Kovalev himself:

""A lot of people wanted money through betting," Kovalev said.

"I said ‘who put the money on my victory, it’s a big risk’ because

Kovalev also revealed that his preparations during fight night were not ideal.

His fight with Canelo was delayed for an hour as fans awaited the end of a UFC event taking place on the same night and for Kovalev, this delay had a major effect psychologically.

"We had put the gloves on and waited an hour in the dressing room.

"It burnt all the energy in my mind and once I stepped in the ring, I was empty.""

RJJ got cleaned up at the olympics by an unknown Korean guy and history will judge him for that.

He actually has 22 defenses in separate reigns, with the Murata fight. Plus Hopkins has a no contest, reducing his by one technically.

Canelo is the one with the Mexican beef. He can pack on the lean muscle, GGG doesn't bulk up the same way.

Muhammad Ali once said he was in his prime leading up to the Larry Holmes match, I don’t care what fighters say about their own matches.

It probably would if RJJ ruled over a weak division for decades and failed against the same guy 3 times.

Nice, pales in comparison to Canelo though
