Probably canelo as I think he improved a lot since his floyd loss

Golovkin was seen as prime until he met canelo

I figure canelo losing to floyd as young as he was is further from his best than golovkin facing canelo a fight or two later than his best is the determining factor

I mean no one said ggg was past prime til he had a hard time with canelo

The first time anybody talked about GGG being past it was against Brook a year before the Canelo fight.

The first fight I would say Canelo looked prime and polished technically and physically in was vs Cotto which was 2 years after Mayweather.

On the other hand Golovkin didn't really look older and vulnerable until the Canelo rematch a year after the first fight and Canelo didn't look fully confident and mature until the rematch as well which for me was the one where he really got his confidence(boxing being mostly mental).

    Canelo physical/technical prime 2015-
    Mental 2018-

    Golovkin physical prime until 2016/17
    Mentally until 2018/19
he rallied late against Canelo which showed he still had the fire but against derevyanchenko he looked really uncomfortable. Like he didn't want to be there

Yeah but I didn't do a thread based on what you thought, I did a thread based on their first losses.

    Yes, yes he did.

How are you not aware of the result, it was one of the biggest fights of the decade.

Honestly I think they were roughly near the same degrees away from their peaks when they both took their L.

Why would I talk to Fury about Golovkin and Canelo?

Hot **** and steroids have nothing at all to do with this thread.

The question was who was furthest removed from their prime when they suffered their first loss.

I assumed people would already know which fights I referred to but I'll clarify :

Canelo lost for the first time against Mayweather.

Golovkin lost for the first time in his second fight with Alvarez.
