Cotto ate a lot of big shots and looked to be outweighed 15lbs
Mayweather seemed to hurt him more at any point I time In both fights

Neither really, just well matched and similar skill level, sort of like frampton and santa cruz fight

Agree but given that PAC and Floyd both dropped or hurt cotto badly I found it surprising that a massive canelo couldn't. Not really

A little bit of both... Most of Canelos signature KO's are against chinny and or much smaller opponents.

Canelo is not a big puncher brook hits harder he stopped Hatton far quicker then canelo Hatton said brook hit harder and was better. Canelo has only knocked out Khan and Kirkland lol he even landed loads of shots on Kirkland before Kirkland went down ishida knocked him out with one shot

This. Canelo has good power, no doubt, but it's not top tier, shattering power. And Cotto is a tough mofo.

Cotto doesn't have a great Chin. Canelo is not a puncher especially at 160 unless he has a handpicked Glass Jawed opponent like Khan. Khan makes ANYONE look like a savage puncher.

Cotto has a pretty good chin, though he's been down a few times you need to give him a pretty sustained beating to get rid of him. Canelo's power is decent rather than exceptional at top level.

Cotto fought exclusively off the back foot. As did Lara.

Its exremely difficult to KO an elite fighter using a more defensive style than accustomed as was the case with these two.

With that said, Canelo's power is clearly above average.

What people forget about Canelo Vs Hatton is that Canelo came in overweight, the fight was contracted for 150 (another Caneloweight) for the WBC 154lb title and Canelo didn't make the weight.

But Hatton took it anyway, so Canelo had another weight advantage at another "Caneloweight", Hunter is right, Canelo needs advantages.

Almost forgot, no Canelo does not punch anywhere near as hard as some believe, Kirkland was battered by Ishida and Khan is always a KO waiting to happen.
