Not a meaningful fight in my book.

Khan wasn't a MW, had done nothing at MW, and it was obvious that Canelo would get to him and stop him at some point.

GGG 3 was not a meaningful fight. It was a sparring match between two good friends.

Years of steroids use and all those damages he took in countless hard battles... It was obvious that his body was going to give up soon. He is done.

Avoiding the PBC guys. Real guys do need or do tune ups as Erroll Spence JR says.

Well it certainly won't be a Mexican opponent because, well, Canelo dont fight Mexicans.
He dredge up some D level Brit or French boxer.

I reallyyyy like Canelo but how is he going to beat him? Bivol seems to have quite the beard too. I don't see it - Wonder what the odds will be

LOL! The Bivol rematch is certainly a task for Canelo, but I just laugh at the hate thrown Canelo's way by this GGG nut hugging forum, to go as far as saying Canelo does'nt belong in the ring with Bivol.

I think alot of forum members here dont want a Canelo-Bivol rematch for the simple reason that they would not be able to cope with the notion of a possible Canelo victory which imo is not out of the realm of possibility, especially if its at 168 lbs or even a catchweight which my instincts as a boxing fan tells me is going to come down to.

    Great post.

I’m not a huge fan of his, but how can anybody criticise this?

This just shows that you can never win with many fans.

There’s always someone else to fight.

You could bet that if he fought Benavidas next, many would criticise it by saying that he was running from a Bivol rematch etc.

Nobody should have any complaints with this.

If Canelo loses decisively against Bivol again, then I’m pretty sure he won’t fight at 175 again.

I think he’d drop back to SMW and remain there for the rest of his career.

If Benavidas beats Plant at SMW, then Canelo could fight him afterwards.

But he deserves zero criticism for this fight, and Benavidas still hasn’t done anything yet.

It’s certainly not a duck on Canelo’s part.

Like you have said, he’s taking on the more proven fighter, who easily beat him. So really that deserves a lot of respect.

    How?

Benavidas has hardly done anything, and he’s scheduled to face Plant next.

Canelo is instead rematching a more proven fighter who’s just recently beaten him.

I’m not a big fan of Canelo’s, but this fight should be applauded, not criticised.

Let Benavidas beat Plant first and then see where they both are next year.

    I don’t see how he’s ducking him.
