Me either, and I don't know how anyone can call someone a cheat without knowing they are a cheat.

At first when this story broke I was like, whatever no big deal, its probably the meat.
Then I saw the AMOUNT Canelo had in his system, which was way more than the amounts which other athletes got suspended for.
Then, we saw the WBC/WBA RUNNNNNNNN to Canelos defense despite how they completely trashed other fighters that got busted for the same offense or even lesser offenses. Exhibit 1 is Lucas Brown getting stripped by the WBA for Clen. Exh 2 is the WBC treatment of Povetkin despite the fact he got caught with micro traces of a once legal medication.

Boxing is burying itself with headlines like. Canelo, the money man, getting the special treatment, and no one can deny it. GGG is on fire putting Canelo on blast, putting the gov bodies on blast, and rightfully so. He's been quiet and the nice guy all these years despite getting pushed around by boxing corruption.

Stuff like this makes me check out of the sport big time. I get to enjoy fights like Lara vs Hurd much more as both are relative nobodies and therefore will likely get a fair shake in the fight.

Has anyone seen the “injections marks” that GGG referenced? Is that just talk or is there actual proof behind those comments?

GBP should license that slogan from Wendy's. It would fit this to a tee... lol.

DLH has every right to be pissed off that GGG pulled his name into the fray. I never heard DLH being linked to doping in his career and if team GGG isn’t careful, they could be in a position where they have to pay up for making baseless accusations against Alvarez’s promoter. Canelo is one thing....he tested dirty, so their accusations are based on facts and actual evidence....His comments attacking DLH’s integrity as a fighter is just like Mayweather’s accusations against Manny....we all know how that ended.

Usually your initial reaction is the right one. Since then, everyone's been trying to make it a bigger deal than it actually is, which is sad, and yes that's bad for boxing.

I think the things you are looking at, like judging the reaction from the WBC president and believing that Canelo is getting special treatment or comparing the amount of the test to other substances other fighters have tested for is besides the point. The difference between clenbuterol and these other substances is one is known to be in meat in Mexico, the others aren't, so those other cases are more direct instances of cheating. That said, I understand Povketin's claim that he stopped taking it when it became banned Jan 1st, but you still have to wonder why it remained in his system in April when he had the positive tests.

But yeah, I agree that we're being robbed of a normal build up to the rematch without all this clenbuterol stuff. It sucks, but look at the bright side, at least we know these fighters are being tested, and Canelo to be enrolled in VADA for so long and to not have a positive test for so long should earn him some credit. You compare Canelo to fighters in the past who never were tested who we consider all time greats would probably have tested positive for stuff far worse than trace amounts of clenbuterol if they were enrolled in testing. I think at the end of the day, you have to applaud any fighter who enrolls in VADA and proves he is clean, and we shouldn't crucify any fighter for testing positive unless it's 100% clear. Whether that's Povektin, Canelo, whoever. The commissions aren't perfect, either, how they handled the Povetkin situation may not have been correct to postpone Wilder Povetkin but that's not proof that Canelo's getting preferential treatment. Regardless of how other cases have been handled, I don't think you can blame the WBC Pres or anyone for trying to give Canelo the benefit of the doubt here. Canelo's track record of being enrolled in VADA for so long and never testing positive until now has to earn him some level of respect to where they shouldn't just call off the fight without knowing how this happened.

I think fans in general need to chill the **** out and wait until this gets cleared up.

Ahh....I think DLH took it the same way I did. Meaning he was saying DLH was a dirty boxer when he was fighting.

There's only one way to take that comment, it was how you took it and how Oscar took it. And lets say he meant that DLH is corrupt and not dirty in terms of drugs. Calling DLH corrupt is still pretty unprofessional and out of line to call your opponents promoter that.

I think DLH took it wrong because there's nothing to suggest DLH was dirty thru his career. Plus, that's way in the past and no once cares about it now. It's makes more sense if he were referring to the corrupt aspect which is pretty obvious given its GBP man, lol.

For G or Sanchez to call DLH dirty was completely unprofessional and out of line regardless. By the way, do we know who said it? Was it Sanchez or G himself, and do we have it on video, or were they just quoted as saying it?

You do understand what meldonium is, though, right? Meldonium has been used by Eastern European athletes for decades. It improves blood flow and allows the body to repair quicker. It was originally used for people with poor blood flow due to a bad heart condition. Meldonium is a far cry from cenbuterol and yet the Wilder-Povetkin fight was canceled due to it being detected in Povetkin's blood stream. Don't recall any vacillation by the governing bodies then.
