They want to make sure all the belts are at one place. This way, Canelo and GBP are hoping that Saunders takes GGG out of the picture which would mean they won’t need to fight him again. What they don’t understand is that BJS has a good chance to beat Canelo. If they are serious with this suspension, they need to suspend him for 2 years.

The point is obvious : we've seen countless posters comment on this very forum "Canelo should be suspended for 6 months" "Canelo should be suspended for a year" "Canelo should be suspended for 2 years" !

If he were suspended for the amount of time some fans on here think he should, he would lose a significant portion of his prime ! Much like Ali. Obviously the reasons are different, but the "losing a portion of one's prime" part would be similar. If Canelo were suspended for any length of time, it would rob Canelo of his Prime ! When Ali came back in the 1970s, he was not the same fighter he was in 1967! If Canelo were suspended for a year, lets say, since he only fights twice a year, he would basically lose 2 years of his prime, since he hasn't fought since September of last year. That would be an absolute travesty, and many fans on here think he literally should be suspended for that long, robbing Canelo of his prime years, not even considering that he may have tested positive from meat contamination.

Just to clarify what some might infer from your post, Ali was convicted but spent no time in jail.

It's just ironic that's all that Golovkin fans wanted the fight to be in NY, where a fighter who tested positive for clenbuterol was allowed to fight and didn't get suspended. Now Golovkin fans are citing NSAC rules and regulations how their rules are so much stricter than NY or other commisions, how Canelo has more of a chance of getting suspended their than in the state that they wanted the fight to be in the first place lol.

I was just asking you do you think it's fair for Canelo to be punished while other fighters who tested positive didn't? Fans have literally been making that argument for weeks now lol, and I'm just pointing out that other fighters did not get suspended, did not have their fights cancelled. So I'm not singling you out, I'm simply asking you, do you think Canelo should be suspended given how other fighters have been treated with their fights allowed to go forward (Morales, Vargas, Nery, etc)? Why is Canelo being held to a different standard? Oh I know why, because he's the face of boxing, but lets not act like there's a precedent to suspended a fighter when there's possible meat contamination. Also all of these fighters who tested positive were from . . . guess where? Mexico, where contaminated clenbuterol meat is known to be a problem. For any fan to be on here arguing that Canelo should be suspended is just ridiculous to me. I mean say what you want about me, but I'm not accusing Canelo of anything. I just find it amazing that fans who think Canelo should be suspended are just ignoring what happened to Morales, Vargas, Nery, etc and are trying to argue that Canelo is getting some kind of special treatment. If Canelo were treated like those other fighters there wouldn't even be a hearing! The fight would be on, meat contamination would be believed like it was with those other Mexican fighters, HBO would have never stopped promoting the fight, etc etc etc.

Assuming he is suspended. 6 months , 2 years, whatever. It will mean to me they are enforcing the strict liability and taking a zero tolerance stance on PEDs.

In the end, it's the fighters responsibility to control what he puts in his body.

    Boxing politics.

Thats your answer. If a Mexican gets caught he gets a pass, if someone like Povetkin is popped than fight is canceled STRAIGHT AWAY. That was the case with Wilder vs Povetkin and even Stiverne vs Povetkin was canceled only after the Russian tested positive, when Stiverne was caught they didnt do anything, he was even promoted to mandatory challanger LOL, because ....boxing politics

So I will be shocked if Canelo gets suspended and you'll be as shocked aswell because you constantly claimed the butcher trained millionaire's innocence lol

We're talking about situations involving clenbuterol or in Nery's case a substance similar to clenbuterol known to be in meat in Mexico with there being the possibility of testing positive without actually knowingly taking a substance.

You're trying to change the subject to Povetkin. The Povetkin situation is very different, there was no possibility of meat contamination in that case. He was taking a substance that became banned. He said he stopped taking it when it became banned but he tested positive over 3 months after the ban was put into effect. I understand the argument for why Povetkin shouldn't have been suspended, but it's not in any way similar to clenbuterol and cases involving the possibility of meat contamination.

We're talking about cases involving fighters from Mexico who tested positive who were cleared to fight because of the possibility of meat contamination. I'm not sure what to expect from the NSAC, but I'm trying to figure out how fans can argue that Canelo should be suspended when several fighters from Mexico in similar situations did not get suspended, did not have their fights cancelled. That's a very fair relevant point is it not?

Oh dear. I guess no rematch and that's 2 GGG fights gone because of Canelo's diva ways (probably to cycle the clen).

I think that's the death knell for the fight. Nobody, but NOBODY offers refunds in Vegas! Lol.

According to Big Dan's article, from his talks with sources and the interpretation of the rules, Canelo has to prove he was intentionally spiked. Wow. Good luck proving that.

No its not a fair point. This "tainted meat" excuse practically invites athletes to go Mexico and get juiced to the gills. There should be tolerance zero. Specially for Mexican fighters since they should be aware of the situation. Even more so a fighter that is trained by a butcher lol. All the other Mexicans should've been suspended. I for one, want the fight to go on as planned on Cinco De Mayo. If the NSAC decides to cancel it and punish Canelo ( which I still doubt they will) GGG should never attempt to fight Canelo again, because........how many advantages one needs in a fight ? GGG is a clean fighter in a dirty era. And old

If there's one fighter from Mexico who should be sensible to this situation, it's Canelo.
He, more than any other fighter, has the means to avoid it. So what is it, are you a fan of a cheater or the greatest idiot in boxing?
