If you're an athlete who resides in a country were it's well known the meat is often pumped full of hormones and steroids you would go out of your way to ensure what you consume is free from such chemicals. Where are all the other Mexican boxers, athletes, cyclists, soccer players etc failing tests? If other pro's can stay clean in Mexico Canelo has no excuse. Even if what he is saying is true he still should get banned any athlete is responsible for what they put into their body, pleading ignorance isn't a defence, plenty of other athletes in other sports have received bans for not being careful in regards to what they put into their body.

Even if it's a case where he bought supposedly organic meat that was contaminated then Canelo needs to provide proof this is what happened and have the supplier looked into to see where the contaminated meat originated from. That's the only way Canelo walks away with any chance of not being labelled a cheat.

He's now failed a test, the burden of proving his innocence is now on him and simply saying he ate contaminated meat is no defence.
