They fight nothing alike but by fighting a bigger man he can simulate the strength and toughness. So he needed someone big and strong that's not too much of a threat with a name.

    Thoughts?

Canelo can never fight GGG because his body is not that of a true MW.....But he can drain Jr and suddenly pass 160...SMH.....This is a money grab and easy win for Canelo

Canelo is DEFINITELY prepping for Golovkin.

He's fighting bigger, stronger guys than ever before.

    He's pushing himself harder.

He's training with Rocky music in the background.

Come 2026, Golovkin is TOAST :deal:

Give it a rest, everyone knows this fight was only made for money. Any fighter would fight JCCJR, ask Froch, Ward and GGG.

The JCC Jr. fight is Golovkin's dream fight for those hating on this fight.

Somewhere in all of this reckoning seems to be the belief that JCCJR has been doing more than getting stoned in preparation for this match. I personally do not think that Canelo is fighting a bigger, stronger opponent- I think he is fighting a taller and lazier one. Canelo will show up prepared- Chavez may not. Really being ready for potentially the most marketable sports event in his culture would just be too much work.

Also, although the Mexican public may love this fight as just that, I wonder what type of a fan base JR has really maintained. My Mexican boxing friends who are knowledgeable about the sport do not seem to care much for, or about, him. A few really dislike him- out of deference to his truly great father.

I really hope I am just being pessimistic and this fight turns out to be of interest, even great- but I personally lost interest in Chavez Jr about a hundred kilos back.

This is the BIGGEST fight of both of their careers. Anything less than coming into the ring in impeccable shape would be a tragedy, and Chavez Jr knows it. Chavez Sr. is really on JR., and he has made it very clear to his son what is at stake, and I'm sure Chavez Jr. himself knows this too.

Mexicans are billing this fight as the biggest Mexican fight in the history of the Mexican boxing. I would be very surprised if Chavez Jr. spent his camp smoking weed and eating shitty.

As soon as this fight was made it made it 100 percent clear that Canelo was NOT fighting Golovkin in sept 2017. There's no way he going to fight a big strong Chavez only to jump back into a 10 week camp to fight the most dangerous boxer in the sport.

Canelo will EASILY make 15 million in this fight. Expect him to fight a soft touch after Chavez as I expect this to be a tough 12 rounder for Canelo.

GGG said it best when asked about Canelo. GG knows that Canelo isn't serious about fighting him.
