“Trout is a great fighter, undefeated and he's coming off a win against Cotto, he's a southpaw and a very strong, complex fighter, he'd be a good opponent next May¨

    BUT

¨Right now, the one we're trying to negotiate with is Floyd Mayweather and if for some reason he doesn't want it, then we'll pick another option”

    --- Canelo Alvarez 03/12/12

Well, since Mayweather is obviously ducking the young, hungry lion to fight an overblown junior welter instead, it seems that Trout will be a happy man this May, he'll get another career high payday.

Wouldn't put it past Trout to beat Canelo. Was impressed by him.

Trying to get a Mayweather fight is understandable, but if that doesnt happen its good to see hes looking Trouts way..... thankfully hes got more balls then his promoter (Richard).

I would be happy to see Trout in with Mayweather or Canelo tbh.

I'm glad Canelo has changed his position about being willing to face Trout

Reality check: Canelo fears no one at 154lb, he didn't run from Trout in the Trout-Cotto aftermath out of fear for featherfisted Austin, he ran because he doesn't want to fight for peanuts againt an unknown guy when he can get the lucrative, big marquee names. Remember, this a business, and stars like Canelo only want big matches with big money involved.

That been said, this is a tough fight for Alvarez and could go either way due to Trout's speed and footwork

It would be good fight Trout gets underrated here alot, Trout doesnt hit hard enough to win but it would be good fight, definitely more dangerous than 140 lbs Lopez.

I give Trout a good chance. Mayweather will not fight Canelo.

mayweather isnt gonna fight anyone with a chance in hell to win...that goes for trout, canelo, martinez. as one mayweather fanboy has already put it, trout is a big junior middle, thats not gonna happen! NOTE- because floyd only fights small junior middles even though he is ranked #1 at 154 for almost a year now.....only to fight a guy next won the lightweight title last year :rofl
you cant make this cherry picking up

I'm also pretty sure that Canelo will never fight Trout.
