No, those were different. Canelo said GGG needs more fights in the sense that he needs to build his brand/fight bigger names to make it financially sensible for Canelo to move up 8 lbs. Or did GGG say said about Ramirez, they both making excuses. Canelo's is worse cos he holds the belt, but don't act like it's okay when GGG says anyone from 154-168 then makes excuses as to why he won't fight people outside of MW.

The thing that bothers me about this is that Alvarez is currently fighting a no-hoper from TWO DIVISIONS DOWN who has zero wins over top 10 WELTERWEIGHTS.

Khan hasn't beaten a top 10 guy since 140, yet unified WBA/IBF champion and WBC interim champ/mandatory challenger GGG, who has utterly cleaned out 160....somehow needs to earn a shot.

I'm not Mexican but I feel like that's a very non-Mexican attitude for the face of Mexican boxing.

He won't fight outside middleweight because he's sitting on two belts and a mandatory shot at the lineal title and a third belt. He's been ducked for the lineal championship for over 3 years. He's not going to step out of line for some random fight at 168 when the only two PPV fighters in the sport are fighting in his division.

It's not the best fight, but its a money fight, its against a European with a huge fan base, it will be exciting, and again it should generate lots of money and help Canelo with cross over appeal.

There have been FAR worse fights made in recent years by top fighters.. At least there is good reasons for this one..

...Add to that the fact that Canelo has almost consecutively fought Trout, Lara, Angulo, Mayweather, Kirkland, and Cotto, a very nice list of top fighters, and you can easily forgive Canelo for taking a strategically supposed soft touch in Khan.

All true, but it stands in contrast to his argument about GGG and makes him look very hypocritical.

Oh yes Pollo got in ring with them but he arguably LOST to all 3

He froze against Cheatweather Clumbsy as heck

    Lara boxed his ears off

    Trout beat him too

Canelo is the over rated one He claims to be WBC & Lineal Middleweight Champ Time he grew a set & defended it against his #1 contender Gennady Golovkin. Who also happens to be the REAL UNDISPUTED World Midleweight Champion

Canelo fought Cotto, he would have done so with or without the pathetic MW WBC title on the line or not..

The fact that your opinion is that he lost all three fights is irrelevant, Canelo fights anyone, while GGG fights mandatories..

Exactly, that's what happens when you fight top notch opposition, you get into close fights that fans pick against you in. When GGG finally starts doing that, then he can call out big names for a payday. Right now all he's doing is begging while devouring tomato cans.
