Question, what's on the line in a Canelo vs GGG clash. GGG has the belts and a respectable following. He is an exciting fighter in that he is a knockout specialist regardless of who he has fought. Canelo is Mexican and brings a very large fanbase to table. He is also considered to be a knockout artist of questionable opponents. I can't understand why he is trying to lowball GGG. However, because of the larger audience that Canelo brings, 60/40 in his favor is reasonable.

 

Have you ever been ringside at a boxing match??? I seriously doubt it. A large number of boxing fans are female. Its scarey to hear female voices yelling " Kill him" "Knock his head off" etc While guys are yelling " Double up on the jab" & " throw combinations " lol

Canelo is obviously trying to draw out the fight as long as possible and milk his Hispanic fanbase a bit more. You can thank Floyd for people copying his playbook:

1. Challenger appears
2. Avoid him, saying hes unworthy
3. Then, say he's not a draw
4. Then, make him a flat fee offer that translates into 80:20 for the incumbent
5. Tell public the challenger is unworthy and greedy as he declined a generous offer
6. In the interim, fight lots of over-matched opponents
7. In interviews, say the main challenger "is next" and "coming soon"
8. Instead keep fighting more over-matched opponents
9. Then eventually, fight challenger for 50/50 split

 

If people are so convinced the offer is B'S, they should want Golovkin to accept it.

That leaves two possibilities:

1) the fight happens and everyone wins

2)the offer is exposed as bs and those posters are proved right.

Canelo's purse: $5 million. PPV: roughly 4-5 million.
