Not easy to calmly accept being called a coward.

that might be, but if that is the case Canelo would not block punches he would just swing his arms.

it is a Hagler vs. Hearns risk. Hagler took that risk to a ridiculous level. no one knew Hearns would bust his hand landing on Hagler's head, but that is risk. Do I think GGG should do it? I will be honest, if GGG throws punches and they go for broke and have a great first round and the fight lasts a few rounds like Hagler vs. Hearns, no one will complain. Those kinds of fights happen once every 30 years at this level. GGG can come at him like that, but usually he is measured and works up to it by landing. I have been looking at Canelo landing right hands on Chavez and Khan and others. He has a good right hand which if that lands on GGG when GGG is coming in? He hurts him no doubt. He can hurt GGG regardless of peoples saying he cannot. Especially when GGG is leaving his chin out there throwing punches, the more successful Canelo can be. My pick is Canelo by decision tomorrow night. Or a late TKO.. either way I think Canelo is the better and faster fight, and the sport of boxing is usually won by the more skilled boxer.

No I'm not saying Canelo suffers from any degree of it. I understood him to be using hyperbole to get his point across that he had not avoided a fight with GGG out of fear as was being said.

Is that what Hearns said later? I watched an interview with both fighters present after that fight and the only thing Hearns said was that Hagler had not responded to his punching power as he had expected.

I forget. Hearns didn't say much after that fight. He was the loser so he was not very confident.
