Ginger says if Pac wants the match, he'll have to move up to 154, but for now they're focused on Lara

Those days are over. That's the first thing I learnt from my fight with Mayweather, I won't be fighting out of my weight division again
, if Pacquiao wants the fight he'll have to move up to superwelter-

two things are clear as of now

    1 - Pac-Canelo will never happen
2 - Mayweather drained the hell outta ginger :-(

Team Pac initially offered Cotto 142 or 43 I believe. Cotto rejected it and they compromised on 45. I still think a Pacquiao-Canelo fight is possible. They could cede to the 154.

Which I would love to see BTW.

He really should fight a heavier Alvarez to try one up Mayweather, just as Mayweather fought a heavier Cotto. If Pac can fight a 154 or 155 Alvarez and beat him worse than Mayweather it'd mean a lot to their comparative legacies. Much the same with how Pacquiao wins over Hatton, Mosley, etc made Mayweather's wins look worse, and Mayweather's win over Marquez made Pacquiao's look worse.

I think its been clear that Floyd drained the hell out of him since he was literally carried into the IV room after weigh-in.

But yeah... cant blame him for trying for that opportunity. But smart of him to learn his lesson.

Canelo wanted to fight Floyd @ 150...... Floyd and him negotiated 152.... Fact!

No one was drained..... Canelo was very comfortable and lost every round... Floyd is an ATG.. one of the greatest of ALL time......Irrefutable...

Even if Canelo fought at 154 (or 155), he would have lost the same way..... he still would have been shut out... destroyed....

His fight weight was 7 pounds lighter than it had been against Trout. I don't think you can say the CW didn't damage him.

That said, I wrote a thread bout this stating that I thought the CW was actually relatively fair. Alvarez was a bit drained, but Mayweather is not a 154 fighter. Fair trade.

Canelo was as drained as Cotto was when he fought Pacquiao

He came in at 153 for Trout, he came in at 152 for Mayweather

1 lb makes very very little difference. He came in extremely comfortably.

He was outclassed from beginning to end. End of.

This could potentially turn out to be an ATG level win depending on what Canelo does.

Mayweather showed us why he's considered one of the greatest of all time. :deal

True, but correct me if I'm wrong: Fight weight for Trout: 172. Fight weight for Mayweather: 165.

Alvarez is finding it harder and harder to cut as he matures(hell, now he can't even make 154). Cutting to 152 against Mayweather meant he wasn't able to rehydrate as much as would have wanted to.

What's your point? That could mean he didn't want to rehydrate up to 172 so he could go in the fight for more speed.

He was leaner and fitter for the Mayweather fight. He was aiming for speed.

I think that was also DLH's plan against Pacquiao. Only rehydrate 2 lbs for speed.

    Good.

Now we can see Pac try to blitz through the 140lb division.
That would be an awesome end to his career, not counting a Mayweather fight of course.

Pacquiao would be a wolf among sheep at 140.
