Canelo seems to have changed since fight with Bivol.

To top it off there were only 2 champs. Canelo couldve picked off a contender but went directly to the softer fisted of LHW champs.

When people say Bivol Canelo was a cherrypick it does the opposite of what they were trying to do. People want to sound intelligent and insightful saying Bivol was a cherrypick, but it makes people look foolish - not insightful or intelligent.

 

Youre lost. Canelo couldve fought Joe Smith Jr or Anthony Yarde or Sullivan Barrera or Gilberto Ramirez or hell Canelo couldve drug Pascal out of his pseud retirement and that wouldve been understandable seeing how its Canelos 4th (or 5th?) division and how undersized his stature is against people in that division.

Some of those fights couldve been considered light cherrypicks, but to say fighting 1 of 2 undefeated champions is a cherrypick...what the fu** are you going on about?

 

Because those who are arguing that it wasn't a cherrypick have never been accused as being intelligent.

Again, Bivol wasn't the top dog at 175 and Canelo had no plans to face the guy that was, and had already picked his next opponent ar cruiser. Do you need links or something? You seem to be uninformed. Everything you have posted is non sequitur.

Bivol is getting a retroactive boost, but he was a cherrypick. Had Canelo not arrogantly publicly announced his next mark at cruiser, we could say different. But he clearly had no plans to face Beterbiev at 175. We know this only because Canelo revealed it.

 

Retroactive ? Just because Canelo ducked Beterbiev doesn't make Bivol a cherrypick Bivol was already an elite champion and stylistically Bivol wasn't made for Canelo. Bivol was better than old Kovalev. Actually Kovalev was the cherrypick tbh

We do realize that had the Bivol fight been remotely close, Canelo would have gotten the decision, right? No one imagined that he would lose 10 rounds, so the result was a foregone conclusion... until it wasn't.

 

I did. Half the forum if you look at the poll, but you do have a point, Canelo took the percieved easier route

I do need links. The plan was Makabu at CW and then it suddenly changed and became Bivol. Should Canelo have beaten Beterbiev GGG wouldve still been next but Beterbiev was probably the following May fight.
