More wishful thinking Canelo isn't fighting GGG in September in fact he won't be fighting him this year and for what? Canelo isn't in his mid 30s he's prime, time is on his side not GGG and like Oscar said Canelo isn't a MW yet look for Canelo to have 3 or 4 more fights before they are ready to face GGG they call the shots and have the backing of the WBC.:deal This is why me and other posters kept saying GGG was wasting his time on waiting on Canelo, what GGG should have done was fight Ward when he had the chance it was a no lose situation for him. If he lost so what he dared to be great he could moved back down and guys like Canelo would fight him in a heart beat and so would others. If he won then he becomes P4P #1 and the best fighter in the world. Now he's starting to look like Khan pre Canelo begging guys to fight him looking for a big payday with Canelo the irony here is hilarious.:yep
don't worry about cj. he's an old guy who got beat up when he was young and is angry now because we have a halfbreed in the white house and these kids are all over his lawn.
yes! incredulous in the words of ill bill from bk Nobody gets a record deal(big fight), you gotta take that sheeit Treat the record label(promoters) like a sloot, and raype that beetch I keep it simple for these stupid cats Claiming you knew the facts, but in reality, you were trapped
CJ is the biggest and oldest joke on ESB he's never right about anything what's even funnier about it he's a fan of Margo which makes him even more pathetic. A disgraced cheat who had to load his gloves just to be average and beat up on smaller men.
Well, Ward wasn't ever actually there in reality -unless you believe the worst posters on this forum. But just repeating the same thing over and over doesn't make it true. Ward never wanted a fight "next" he wanted it for later in the year (on terrible terms), which brings us to Canelo. You are 100% right that WBC doesn't want to strip Canelo. What you might be overlooking though, is WBC has lost lawsuits in recent years. Including Rubio's lawsuit, which is how he got reinstated as mando which is why K2 went after him in the first place. K2 is trying to make friends not enemies, and has been very accommodating. Whether that's smart on their part or not is a matter of opinion. What's not a matter of opinion, is that if the WBC welshes on their several written orders, K2 would have to consider going nuclear (legal) just to save face. Such an event is really not a good look for the WBC, or Canelo and GBP. Having HBO talking heads constantly yammering about such a lawsuit is not something Canelo's PR handlers want either. So what's likely to happen? The ABC's are gonna try and get Cotto a belt at 154, which has already started. Then Canelo is going to drop the 160 belt and rematch Cotto on PPV for a 154 belt and make the claim that Cotto invoked rematch clause. Once Golovkin ages out or leaves the division, WBC will fast track Canelo for the 160lb belt again.
Yep until you either retire or lose. With that said it's almost as impossible for Canelo to be stripped by the WBC.:yep
Does anyone really want to see a Cotto vs Canelo rematch? Cottos a future HOFer, but at this stage, Canelo is too much for Cotto.
Oscar and JayZ do Just because.. it generates $$, but doesn't pose much health or career risk. If Canelo KO's Khan, and Cotto looks good grabbing a 154lb belt then it's pretty much the most logical $$ fight for both teams.
