If Canelo really wants the Floyd fight come down to 147. I don't want to see Floyd fight at 154.

if Floyd fights him that is probably what they will want. I remember when Chavez was on top, Norris was talked about as an opponent, but only if Norris went down to 147..Then it would be for a vacant title.

Floyd is so superior to his competition that the only hopes for a competitive match are against guys much larger than him, with hopes that they can physically hurt or tire him.

All fans have been whining about for years now is for Floyd to go up and fight a Middleweight when he's already jumped 4-5 divisions through his career.

I wonder if people would have pressured Duran to move up to Middleweight immediately after the Brawl in Montreal. Come on people. Insane agenda based standards on this site to the extreme.

    ---

That said, I'm all about that legacy and Saul at 154 is where it's at. Said that last year when he signed to fight Cotto that I wanted Canelo instead. At the time, all of Floyd's haters were hating on an Alvarez match since that was the favorite and claiming that he was far too big of a coward to face the much better junior middleweight in Cotto....... Boy, how things change to some people.

Canelo is already draining himself to make 154, 147 would be killing him.

Manny was smaller than Floyd and he didn't fight him.

Nah if the fight happens it should be at 154. That would be a move expected from the Manny himself.

A lot of the blame for that is on Pacquiao's side. Anyway, in most situations , a guy like Alvarez would be expected to acquiesce to Mayweather's weight demands. The expectations are a bit different for Mayeather though. He'll be expected to take the fight at the full JMW limit. I have no problem with that.

How is that of any relevance whatsoever?

Might as well bring up Henry Armstrong. Since that would be random as hell too.

Mayweather doesn't get the weight advantages, he gives them. I can think of a couple examples to the contrary, but more often than not it is May making the choices which give his opponent the size advantage or at least not doing something additional to put them at a disadvantage.

that was more of a lets see how many requirements we can put on a great fighter and see if he accepts. It was obvious to many people and mainly to Manny that Floyd didn't want the fight.

I don't think he will fight Alvarez. The talk will come out and something will get in the way, and he will end up fighting someone like Berto. Seriously. Watch how this works with Floyd.
