Okay, I know we all want to see Canelo-Benavidez next but the Ginger doesn't seem to be too keen and I doubt there are any big boxing fans with a spare $200 million lying around, while the other David, Morrell, is moving up to 175, which leaves one clear contender to Canelo's crown, Christian Mbilli. The Frenchman has looked vicious in all of his ring outings, he fights like a madman and is top 5 in all the sanctioning bodies' rankings, a deserved place for his 20+ fight experience at 168 and his good win over Gongora. He's a thousand times more deserving than the dirty little tosser that is Edgar Berlanga. Are there any other deserving top 10 SMWs you'd rather see Canelo fight?

I agree but we all know the Ginger isn't gonna take the fight until Bennie gets settled at 175, if he takes the fight at all. I think Mbilli is the next best thing though.

In a serious sport, fans, the media, and all pundits would hold his feet to the fire and shame/slander his name until he fought David Benavidez. The fact that Benavidez has been his mandatory for 3 years is unacceptable. I seriously have zero respect for anyone who calls themself a fan of the sport and parrots the notion that Canelo can fight whoever he wants and that Benavidez doesn't deserve the fight while Canelo holds that WBC belt hostage.

Wish this wasn't just a movie.

I agree that Canelo should be stripped for his blatant duck and his conduct has been nothing less than shameful in his avoidance of the clear best contender and Benavidez undoubtedly deserves his shot at the crown. The point I'm trying to make though is that Mbilli would be the best of a bad bunch out of Berlanga, Jermall, and Scull for Canelo's retirement lap.

Tank Davis demanded 2 Ferraris and Turki told him to go f**** himself.

Canelo isn't getting paid $100m+ from Turki. Ever.

PBC or whoever will have to come up with that sort of money (and run a huge loss, as all promoters do when they overpay Canelo) instead and let him fight Benavidez

Turki doesn't like people negotiating terms and backing him into a wall. It makes him look weak. They like to dictate terms themselves.

If 27 year old Mungia with his ok record is considered overrated by many on here, what exactly does a 29 year old Mbili with a dreadful record bring to the table???

Maybe Mungia, Plant & Burlanga should face Demond Nicholson, Rohan Murdock & Mark Effron so they can be your heroes too

But this is exactly why Munguia got made. Because people said "well it isn't Benavidez but it's not too bad"

If he won't defend his titles against Benavidez he should just vacate them all

Million isn't great defensively. He's a contender for Canelo sure but he'd get beat.

    European Tour.
    Mbilli, Sadjo in France.
Up to 200lbs, go to England and beat Billiam-Smith, take the WBO Cruiserweight Title

Unification against Zurdo at 200lbs in Mexico.

    Career over.

Why don't you want Benavidez to fight Mbilli?

One thing's for certain.... Canelo's KO dry spell would finally come to an end.

LoL, I just watched Mbilli against Gongora.

Gongora was about to knock him out with an uppercut in round 8.

Canelo destroys this bum in 7 rounds at latest.
