Another easy title for him to collect, wouldn't be any need for his judges as Smith would eat canvas long before the 12.

Smith or Saunders, which juicy Brit would you pick first if you were canelo.

Callum Smith and Billy Joe Saunders both fight to the level of their opponent.

So why couldn't Callum match Ryder's level tonight?

I’ve always thought Smith is a good match up for Canelo, after last night I’m 100% sure Canelo stops him.

haha good one! Well Smith hasn’t fought anyone of note apart from a semi retired cripple groves that was even Stevens when he stopped him.

Canelo would beat them both. He'd have more trouble with Saunders but the big stiff robotic Smith would be child's play for him.

I think BJS would prove to cause Canelo more problems than Smith but I would back Smith (just) to beat BJS.

Canelo would smash the snot out of Smith, it wouldn't even be competitive, Smith just wants that big money and an anfield fight, everybody knows, even Hearn that Smith isn't beating Canelo.

Smith is one of the most overrated fighters in the world, simply because the 168 Division is poor, very poor. He beat Groves, who looked shaky and at the end of hi season career.

Other than that his resume is rather average, people need to calm down.

BJS looked average in his last fight and Smith looked average last night, the pair of them should fight each other and the winner cash out against Canelo.

Easy to discredit a win afterwards, Groves was a current world champion and number 1 at super middle and I think * he was the favourite going into the fight. Plus I wouldn't call Erik Skoglund, Rocky Fielding and a few other European level fighters hes beat ' nobodies'

For example look at Saunders' fight against Akakov then look at his fight against Lemeiux - no comparison! It was like two different boxers.
Well last night was Smiths Akakov type fight.

Callum Smith performances vs Groves, Fielding, N'Jikam, Mohoumadi >> That was Smith at his best.

Groves suffered a career ending injury v Eubanks Jnr and only turned out for the PPV loot similar to Haye TWICE v Bellew.

Canelo would fold the plank like a cheap suit.

I just can't see Canelo coming over here to fight. If this Anfield card is happening I think Smith vs. Saunders is much more realistic.

I’d only discredit the groves win on the context...taken at face value it’s a great win and performance. But Groves suffered a career threatening injury, came back quickly and was essentially cellotaped together for the fight. That and Smith hasn’t beaten anyone else world class. Ryder would be a decent win, except he lost.

I don’t get the Smith hype. But I’m willing to have my mind changed.
