Lara will eventually fight for some interim garbage belt soon, then him, alvarez, trout, and all the good fighters or name fighters will be assured to never engage in a battle with each other because its too risky and they will wait for the WBA 154 champ Mayweather to fight a 147 pound interim champ instead (oh wait thats already happening) too many belts...guys have no reason to fight each other. in a normal boxing world, everyone except 1 person would be a contender, and would have to fight someone to get a shot at the "world title" but the world title is just a name, trophy, resume filler these days
Trout didn't impress me at all tho he did well against the worst version of Cotto ever. Canelo, even this green version, would of walked all over Cotto. Mosley, the shot version, fought just as well if not even better than Lara or Vanes. I even give that shot version a chance over Trout. Cotto seems done yet he was competitive thru out and hurt Trout several times. He even outboxed the faster, bigger Trout. Only real threat to Canelo is Kirkland, who redeemed himself and beat Angulo. Trout, Vanes, or Lara don't deserve to fight Floyd anymore than Canelo does. Mosley was better than anyone those 3 ever beat. I don't have Cotto better than Mosley right now he looked done.
I won't speak on Lara but Canelo won't break Trout down and he knows it. I saw his face when he witnessed the breakdown of Cotto by Trout. He don't want none. He also witnessed Trout getting in his brothers ass That's a hard look for a young man. Here's the phrase people use to dismiss Trout's legitimacy" High risk, low reward" that's bull****. Anybody that want to lay claim to being the true champion at 154 must go through Trout, that includes Mayweather but he's not making that claim. His kingdom is 147. I would truely like to see Canelo **** with Trout cause I know what's gonna happen. He gon get his ass waxed.
Despite having too much of the Jose Luis Lopez about him (good combination punching but with 20 second rests in between), I still think Canelo would beat the **** out of Cotto and Trout. Neither of those two have a good enough defense to avoid getting clubbed to submission. Canelo won't beat Mayweather today but Floyd is aging as we speak and he could be ready for the taking in a year or two. Personally, I don't see Floyd going near Canelo if he doesn't take the fight now. Most likely we'll see Floyd play out the rest of his career at 147. Which is fair enough, he's not really a junior welter. I wouldn't mind seeing Canelo take on Trout, maybe Cotto or Lara and then end Martinez' career instead.
