Flat footed angry ginger, who relies on paying off his opponents to go easy on him, says he’s greater than SRR..

Monzon had 9 draws against guys with 24-11 records genius.

Spoken like a man who I doubt watched any of Monzon's reign. Just looked at BoxRec.

Explain to me how that spurt fighting midget with poor stamina beats Monzon. I'd love to hear your analysis.

9 draws against subpar competition. His best win is Emile Griffith. Just because a fighter is looked at as an ATG in their era doesn't mean they win every hypothetical matchup. Canelo matches up well with any fighter from 154 to 160 from any era, win or lose.

Agreed. It's the same crowd who thought Canelo beat GGG in the first 2 fights so I am not surprised.

I actually had Beterbiev in mind for some reason, maybe if Canelo believes he's so great he can move up a few pounds and fight him?

I doubt that, Canelo is an excellent fighter but SRR was special. Plus Canelo has never been able to deal with movers and got taken to school by Bivol.

Movers are his kryptonite. He does better against stationary targets, boxers who would be right in front of him.

Monzon is a legit great, but agree w/your view. I've noticed something after decades on sports forums and very true on BF24.

Most posters have a bias for the older generation greats and a bias against the recent to current greats. While difficult, it's reasonable to compare past to current fighters of the same/ near size or weight class. Lt MW, MW, SMW like we have here. It gets ridiculous when posters compare and favor the smaller HWs of past generations to the SHWs of the ~2000s to date.

Alvarez likely does not win all of them, but I think Canelo would be competitive vs. SRR, Monzon and other MW greats. On his better days he could win some of those hypothetical bouts.
