If he thinks he could have beaten Monzon or Sugar Ray Robinson he is delusional. Can you not see that?

The Bivol, Lara, and Mayweather fights really highlighted this. For me he lost to Lara and the Bivol and Mayweather fights should have been far more one sided on the cards.

Bivol beat him by effectively dictating the pace of the fight alongside exceptional defence. I would not call him a plodder either. I felt Lara beat Canelo and Mayweather absolutely schooled him. Considering these 3 guys have the best movement/elusiveness/defence imo of anyone he fought his entire career I feel like someone as slick as SRR would have beaten him. He also fought every style under the sun and I don’t see Canelo’s being one he has the hardest time figuring out.

What do you want him to say?

"yes both would have whooped me"?

Regardless of the potential outcome of any hypothetical fight, no self respecting fighter will say he'd lose to anyone

Look he needs to believe he is the best ever. Mije tyson said the same thing about Wilder. Just answer it differently and its fine.

Canelo should have a number of losses:

    Old GGG x2
    Lara
    Trout (arguable)
    Bivol
    Mayweather

I don't care that he's being delusional because that comes with the territory. The most annoying thing, to me, is how he keeps acting as if the current "version" of him is something he hasn't already shown us.

We've seen him lose several times already; he'll lose again.

I think he'd probably beat SRR at 175. Monzon would not have been fun at all with his standoff style and long jab.

Canelo is flat footed with highly overrated defense (swooshing your head to the right then staring to the right admiring your work does not equal good defence..)...he was eating straight lefts and jabs from Lara all night, his head was a magnet for GGG's jab, and Mayweather (a highly overrated cherry picker/card stacker) made Canelo look basic. Trout also has a case for beating Canelo.

Since GGG 2, Canelo has been involved in dodgy fights, where many opponents look like they have been paid off to lose. Kovalev, Yildrim, Callum Smith, Caleb Plant, Jermell Charlo etc, all pitty pattied Canelo and acted scared whilst Canelo plodded towards them doing the same thing (throwing looping right hands to the body). You don't throw pitty pat for the whole fight if you're "scared of the counterpunches", which is the justification for all of Canelo's opponents. First of all Canelo is a good counter-puncher, he's not that great of a counter-puncher..plenty of better counterpunches face opponents who actually throw back hard punches. Boxers still threw punches and tried to win against a way more vicious scary knockout artist in Julian Jackson. Secondly, Canelo's not a knock out artist...at 154lbs, he KO'd absolutely nobody bar past it Kirkland and way smaller Khan. He KO'd no-one at 160lbs, but all of a sudden everyone he faces at 168lbs, who are much bigger than him by the way, are so scared to throw with intent and to even try and hurt him.....OK

It's all smokes and mirrors.. He's really not that good guys. His peak was GGG 1, where he lost 8-4 to a slower aging man.

Does anyone really think Canelo survives against boxers like Monzon/SRR who put viciousness into their punches combined with their speed and footwork? He wouldn't just lose he'd get knocked out with those cement feet of his...unless of course Canelo pays them off to go easy on him

EVERY top fighter thinks like that.

If you don't think like that you dont achieve those things.

How's it feel to be scammed by a "sport" you're invested in?
