I don’t think Canelo would be able to KO GGG. He is likely to get a win 65-35 in favour of Canelo due to age. But the fight will be still competitive. Bivol did a great thing, but from the perspective of attractiveness of the fight both GGG Canelo fights are way more watchable. There is one thing, Canelo in fight with Bivol was quite slower, I wonder if that’s the weight gained that slowed him or something else, because if he won’t have speed with GGG he is in more trouble.
I doubt a KO. Maybe a wide UD. They were pretty evenly matched before, but GGG has declined ever since the first fight and he lost to Dervychenko IMO. Will GGG still have power at 168 or not is uknown.
I have to agree with this. Too many people are dismissing GGG because of his age, but Bivol exposed many of Canelo's bad habits and GGG can still take advantage of them. If GGG lands the same kind of left hook that Bivol landed after a blocked combination to the body, it's going to hurt Canelo a lot more. The old man still has power. If he still has his timing, his pesky jab will still give Canelo hell.
Not just that but Canelo now has to move down in weight, which as most experts say is never a good thing, Canelo took some punishment from Bivol and more importantly probably lost some confidence. The Trilogy is looking very interesting now.
It was always going to be competitve, but you can't judge how GGG would do against Canelo based on what happened against Bivol. Not only is Bivol a much better and sharper boxer than GGG, but Canelo was also slower at 175 than he is at 168. Canelo won't gas against GGG at 168 like he did against Bivol at 175, he's a much better fighter at 168. And, GGG has never fought at 168, so GGG'll be slower than usual carrying the extra weight having to move up a weight class to 168.
Yes, he probably knocks out GGG in the trilogy. Nothing about losing to Bivol changes that, because current GGG too would've been handily outboxed by Bivol.
