So it was a failure of De La Hoya that resulted in the IBF stripping Canelo in your estimation? So what happened, he just lowballed Derevyanchenko? So it wasn't Canelo deciding to duck Derevyanchenko after all then, it was a promoter failure, is that right? It can't be both.
This means Alvarez only has the WBA belt left. IBF = winner Golovkin vs Derevyanchenko WBO = Andrade WBC = Charlo (a) All the belts shattered again after being so close to unification.
Take it as you wish...dont agree on a lot in Boxing at the Moment but Oscar is a Blight on the Sport in my Opinion....Not the Word of God just how i see it....
Nah, the IBF are rather quick to strip their guys these days. I don´t like it. But it's good to see DLH get kicked in the shin. He is such an annoying *****. Caused a lot of rifts in the sport. His promotional days are the polar opposite of his fighting days.
Well you have some organisations protecting certain fighters and hardly calling mandatories, so which one do we prefer? The other one means less corruption which is what we want surely?
Kinda happy GGG will be fighting for the title against a guy who haters were saying he ducked, however this is kinda harsh on Canelo, who just won the title 3 months ago and is being stripped because he wants to add another belt (wbo) and become undisputed. As much as I hate Oscar the promoter, I agree with the statement that this is bad for boxing. It's almost impossible to become undisputed it seems. But on the bright side, we might have GGG vs Canelo for the undisputed even though Gennady will be 137 years old by that time.
I don't think one wrong fixes another. We actually want the belts to sit under one fighters umbrella. Yet in recent years it has been made more and more difficult. They just keep shooting themselves in the foot over and over again.
