Canelo not good enough to beat high level boxers that outweigh him like that. Bivol beats him easy. Same with Usyk.

I just had a thought maybe Canelo is using Makabu as a tune up at cruiserweight to be ready for Jake Paul?

Look! Canelo ain't fooling nobody. He became undisputed champion at 168 by cleaning up on a bunch of bums. Just look at their records. Caleb Plant, only 22 fights with no bodies. Billy Joe Saunders, Calum Smith, and Avni Yildirim. No real quality fighters under their belts. They was just on top of the bum pile which only made them king bums. Canelo knew that and cleaned house like a pit bull in a meat wagon. They spotted that wine head Kovalev and set him up to get all the vodka knocked out of him. Then he moved on. He just like a buzzard waiting on the weak and dam near dead. He will fight if he has too like in the GGG fight which he got a gif in. He lost both. He knocked out Khan but who haven't. Took Kirkland out of the drug house and beat him half to death. The Jacobs fight could have went either way. He didn't defend 168 cause the real monster there is Benavidez. He jumped clean up to cruiser weight looking for easy pickings. He is the pied piper of boxing, got people following him around like he is the messiah and he ain't nothing but a con man.

Canelo's run at 168lbs had very little resistance, I agree.

In comparison, look at Andre Ward's path to 168lb glory.

    Night and day.
