Saul Canelo Alvarez (50-1-2, 34 KOs) will be making his first defense of his WBA/WBC middleweight titles in December against an opponent still to be decided. Unfortunately for the boxing fans, Canelo’s opponent for December isn’t expected to be former middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin.

“The only thing in my mind right now is the victory. That’s all I can tell you,” Canelo said. “We have to talk with my team and figure things out, but the idea right now is to fight in December.”

Interesting, so it most likely won't be GGG, who do ya'll think he'll fight in December?

    Easy … Lemieux

TBH this is fine for December, but if we had to wait until May 2019 and then just get the Lemieux fight then that would not be good.

Even if its GGG again, I'm never buying another Golden boy PPV. Boxing had so many rotten decisions the past few years. Wouldn't the natural opponent be Jacobs now anyway? GGG beat Canelo easily the first fight, was a tough fight the second but beat him, Jacobs has really done better vs GGG than Canelo has and did it more during GGG's prime. But if GGG can't KO canelo I doubt Jacobs can and no one is beating the Golden Goose without KOing them. If GGG can't win either of the 2 fights when one of them was a blatant victory, good luck anyone else getting the nod in a decision. lol Unless it's one of GB's own guys and Oscar wants to move on from Canelo.
