Canelo to fight Lemieux instead of Golovkin in September - rumour

I personally don't care if they fight each other or not. The mainstream media keeps saying this is the biggest fight to be made in boxing. Of course by biggest they mean commercially the biggest. Doesn't mean **** to me. There are far better matchups to be made. Charlo/Golovkin, Lomachenko/Garcia, Thurman vs Spence/Brook winner to name a few. They can let this fight "marinate" straight to the garbage can.

I'm tired of waiting for GGG-Canelo. If we wind up with Lemieux-Canelo, I'll chalk that up as a win at this point. That's one of the most fan-friendly fights out there

Either this or Chavez could be cherry picks gone wrong. Honestly I doubt they'd duck GGG and fight Lemieux, since the risk/reward with Lemieux is extremely low and it's a fight they could very well lose.

Golden Boy only takes fights for Canelo where they think they can win.
The must have some plan to change the rules to make sure they
have some unfair advantage over Lemieux.

 

Wouldn't surprise me. Nor does seeing someone in the forum proclaiming "I KNEW IT" off of hear-say...
