Bivol won the first and if he has all the belts at LHW he's gonna be the a side.

Man, no one is trying to hear this **** after years of ducking. This is unprecendented for an undisputed champion to carry on like this. It's never happened before, yet you're sittting sitting back with Canelo's new shades on, pretending that it is par for the course.

Time will tell won't it. I'd say Canelo needs Bivol more than Bivol needs Canelo.

Why does Canelo need Bivol? He got beat fair and square. His legacy is already damned good without a Bivol W.

Very good for a comtemporary fighter, but nothing special from a historical perspective.

Actually it has happened and fans were just as powerless to do anything about it as we are now. I came across an Ellerbe interview about the situation and he gave a perspective on it you'll hate lol. He basically said when it came to Margarito, Floyd felt like "you disrespect, you get no check. Why would we put you on for disrespecting us?" "We can show you better than we can tell you" and he never got the fight. I don't agree with the line of thinking, but I understand. Do you go and disrespect Bob Arum to get a fight with Manny? Do you disrespect Don King to get a shot at Tyson? Absolutely not. Guys like Oscar, Floyd and Canelo are their own promoters so you have to have a business approach to do business with them like it or not. I've got my fingers crossed that David gets the fight but I've been watching boxing long enough to see the potential outcomes of what's happening right now.

Sure, I doubt when he is retired and getting fat in his mansions he'll be worried about why he isn't getting compared to Ray Leonard on message boards.

I didn't say he needs Bivol. I said he needs Bivol more than Bivol needs Canelo.

That's assuming Bivol beats Beterbiev anyway. If he does, Bivol has all the leverage.

Good. He should stop clutching the belts and let other fighters eat as well, then. He does seem to be worried enough about his legacy to not face Benavidez and collect another 60-80 million to face him, though.

That's a lot of Mexican beef being left on the table, no?

Let other fighters eat? He isn’t responsible for anyone else and he consistently defends his titles.

Is there really a such thing as non-title matches anymore? Why should Canelo get credit for "defending his titles" against Jermell Charlo?

A fight against anyone other than David Benavidez is not a genuine defense of his WBC title.

Funniest part about the complaints are Mungia and Berlanga also being mandatories for the WBO and WBA.

Yep they both are. It's hilarious. That's how easy it is to become a mandatory in modern boxing and why it has **** value.
