Why would you want to defend someone who won't fight his top challenger? It's really strange.

Because it's the last fight he has that's actually in demand and big money is being floated around to lesser stars than himself. You must not be much of a businessman in real life lol, it's gotta be that or your emotion towards Canelo is strong enough to override all common sense. I think what's frustrating guys like you is you're unable to view Canelo for what he truly is. You guys are clutching on to him being a normal boxer like these other guys. Canelo is the face of the sport, he's sold more than a million ppv like 4 times while having arguably and likely the best active resume in the sport. A completely different pedestal with different rules. Love it or hate it ,It's been that way since Floyd and Oscar before him. There was a time that the special treatment bothered me but ,these guys earn it and once it's at this point you get the fight by satisfying any stipulation they ask for. So whatever issues he has with Benavidez it's on them to do what it takes to get the deal across the finish line. Guys that can't sell fight absolutely will not boss a guy like Canelo around. And he's fought enough better fighters to no give a damn how we feel about Benavidez honestly.

It's not for me to defend I'm gonna watch fights regardless. Im one of the 60k that actually pay to see a Benavidez fight, if everyone crying would buy his damn fights he'd have more say in whats going on for sure. I'm just trying to see it from the other perspective of the guy who has it all.

But why try to see if from his perspective? He's a multi millionaire he doesn't care about you or your perspective.

As a boxing fan you should want to see the best fight each other, there isn't really any more to it.

Because apparently it's extremely frustrating to see it from just a boxing fan perspective when you can't grasp why you're not getting what you want when you want. (Plenty of examples just in this thread alone) And because I enjoy the banter a bit from time to time. And apparently he doesn't care about anyone's perspective on it but his own, that's his right.

It's not the last fight in demand, it's the current fight in demand. Unless you know something that we don't about Canelo's immminent retirement, Canelo is expected to conduct himself as an active and undisputed champ and fight the man that has earned a shot at one of his titles, yet been repeatedly passed up.

Canelo is not negotiating a 200m paycheck by downplaying Benavidez, he is telling you outright that he can make similar money by taking easier fights.

The reporter actually tossed him a bone by calling the Benavidez matchup the biggest in boxing. Canelo could have jumped on that, piggybacked on the idea, and began selling the fight. Instead his response waa, "uuuuugh, maybe...". He is not interested.

He has convinced himself that he shouldn't be expected to fight Benavidez because:

    A) he fought Floyd and GGG ten years ago
    B) Benavidez is too big

He is telling you this outright, yet you are here typing essays and clapping like a seal.

    Insane.

Too bad. Benavidez had the belt twice and fked it up, twice.
    Canelo said "No third chance"

But it is just another fight for Canelo. He has been through the mega events. For him it will be just another one. Sure, he won´t treat Benavidez the same as Yildrim, but there will be nothing new for Canelo, if the fight were to materialize.

And honestly, I do believe Canelo can be driven away from a fight simply by agitating him too much. Benavidez´ side has done precisely that, they have told blatant lies as well.
This isn´t me agreeing with Canelo and his decisions.

And I find it funny that now Canelo has finally found someone he is scared of. It wasn´t Trout, Lara, Mayweather, Golovkin, Jacobs or Saunders. Benavidez is the man Canelo draws a line with.

The flip side would be, why would DB think Canelo would take less than 92/8 split. You honestly think DB would only take 1% if another promoters worked that out? And yet another question is, what does Canelo want in order to fight DB? 98/2 split seems pretty good.

Canelo shouldn't be the one to decide that when the WBC gave Benavidez the opportunity to fight for the interim title AND their mandatory position.

...It's also funny how Canelo gets to use steroids and no one bats an eye...

They say Canelo and his fans hide behind sunglasses and smileys. Is this true?

I might be a big fan, but Steviebruno is a mega fan. No one talks about Canelo more than him.
