Did the Los Angeles training camp have him partying it up? or did he just grow a lot in one fight?

He usually is around the 163-167 range... But with trout he beefed up to 172.

Here are his wights I've been able to track down.

    canelo mosely 167
    canelo lopez 164

Very odd, I wonder if it was bad training camp or what. He never beefs up that much..

So if he fights mayweather I think he will be at a faster speed then about power.. in the Mid 160's like he always is...

So the size difference would be about 15 pounds, like it was vs Mayweather ORTIZ..

Isn't he that age where he still can be growing?

He could have thought that he's going to need the size advantage coming into the biggest fight of his career

Trout isn't exactly a small guy

He could be growing, he is only 22. He is gonna be at 160 in no time and he is gonna be a little pitbull.

Maybe he saw how big trout was at the weigh ins so he wanted to beef up?

I don't know but its just not like him to come that big, He is best at 163-167 and expect him to return to this average next fight.

Yeah, he doesnt want to be that heavy against Floyd if he can help it. 165 is ideal and he'd still have a good 15 lbs on him.

Ask Canelo vs Hatton he had to come in at 150 and weigh no more then 160.. he looked like a zombie..

Doubt that happens again, that was 2 years ago! IMAGINE now? :scaredas:

I'm wondering if he was deliberately taking in extra fluids and calories after the weigh-in for Trout that would be above his normal routine. You probably don't want to limit your rehydration, it just is what it is.

i think they purposely put on as much weight as they could while remaining effective and boiled him down for the weigh in. its risky, if the boiling down ends up weakening him, then the extra weight is useless against the bigger guy. i think he can hydrate to 165 against floyd and not lose much advantage, if any.
