I don't understand Trout is considered a top guy in the 154lb division so why wouldn't Canelo want to face him irrespective of whether he gets the Mayweather fight.

Lets be honest none of the guys in the division are a draw so he can't use the excuse that Trout isn't popular.

It looks to me as though he doesn't want to fight legitimate 154lbers and is looking for the big pay days. Beating up Ryan Rhodes, Matthew Hatton and Lopez doesn't entitle you to that.

He better pick his next opponent carefully otherwise he will lose fans.
