In 2010 he fought at WW to defend is NABF WW title.
In 2013, 4 months prior to his fight VS TBE Floyd ''money'' Mayweather, he weighted at 154

How was he weight drained ? He was about 20 years old back in 2010, how did he go from 147 to 170 in 3 years ? Should stop eating the mcdonald and start focusing on boxing.

Floyd demanded a catchweight below 154
Canelo was drained like a zombie and needed a chair during weigh-in

According to the Floyd stans, catchweights are okay now just like Ariza shakes are okay too :rofl

Well De La Hoya had not fought at welterweight in 7 years. And i think 145 was his lowest weight since hes 140 days.

And on Canelo, well he was a teenager at welterweight. Of course he was going to grow.
Chavez Jr, at the age of 20 fought at welterweight :!:

    BS argument

At the very least - Alvarez wasn't at his most optimum at the weight...

He looks like a big guy naturally, and in all likelihood cuts significantly for any weight he's been asked to make.

I am a believer that there should NEVER be a catchweight in a world title fight. It is fine to have catchweights in non title fights. Canelo at 152 or 154 makes no difference to the result against Floyd. The fight should have been at 154 though due to it being for the 154 titles. The 152 catchweight leaves the win as a hollow win. Very good win for Floyd but he should have fought Canelo at his best.

Canelo couldn't make a catchweight of 150 against Matthew Hatton in 2011.

Guillermo Jones used to fight at 147 too, so he didn't have to cheat multiple times to make the CW limit.

Still it was weird for Floyd to ask for a catch when he fought Cotto at 154 and Oscar at 154

Why did Canelo have to give up 2 pounds

Sure Floyd wins anyway but I hate when fighters try and negotiate an advantage

You have a valid point i'll give you that but you that but you have to examine these case by case.

The proof that DLH was drained is that he he didnt rehydrate at all on fight night. They had to give him IV's and Pac actually outweighed him by 2lbs i the ring.

Canelo on the other hand rehydrated up to 165 and and had a signigifcant weight advantage over Floyd.
